Yes, they hurt his resume. Still good wins but he won't get the credit he would have had he beat these guys in their weightclass... And rightly so.

Cotto agreed to 145 even though Roach wanted him lower. Still it was Cotto who said 145 or no fight, which means he could have said no altogether and moved on.

Mosley fight was going to be at 147, no one complained about the weight. It was Mosley who had to sign with Arum to make this specific fight so he had 147 in mind without any problems. I don't remember any talks/complaints about that fight's weight category up to now to be honest.

Concheato was at 150, I can't blame them for moving that fraud there. It was enough heat on team Pac for accepting to give a fraud like that a shot.

Marquez fight took place where it was supposed to. You honestly expected the P4P#1 fighter to move down TWO weight divisions to give a man he already beat a third fight?. It's good enough that Marquez requested the same catchweight that he did for Mayweather, only difference here was Pacquiao didn't fail to make the catchweight like Mayweather did. The result pretty much showed that Marquez was performing extremely well and had no issues with the weight. If anything, many people had him winning that fight.

DLH was going to be at 147 to make things reasonable for Pacquiao unless people thought it's fair for Pacquiao to move up THREE weight divisions rather than two. There's a reason DLH was a huge favorite yet people fail to remember or acknowledge that they also had Pacquiao getting knocked out brutally in 3 rounds.

Bradley always barked about wanting Pacquiao or Mayweather(Arum sure as hell won't allow that) and is planning to move up to meet them. Again, do you expect the P4P#1 fighter and champion to move down and challenge an up-coming CHALLENGER?. All up-comers had to move up to prove a point and Pacquiao is beyond that, he doesn't need to move down to prove a point to anyone at this stage and he earned it. In his prime he did move up to challenge every single threat available as he was expected/supposed to. I don't get why people fail to see/understand that.

 

The Mosley fight not happening after Hatton was a Bob Arum thing. He had Cotto in store, who's in his stable, so why bid Pacquiao against a Golden Boy fighter when he can keep it safe and still excite fans?

It's how business in boxing works. That's what all promoters/managers do. Still we got Pac vs Cotto and Mayweather vs Mosley, two great/exciting events. So we can safely move on.

At the end of the day, no it doesn't hurt his resume. When he fought those fights he still gave up massive height, weight, strength, reach advantages...and not only did he overcome them, he dominated most of his welterweight opponents. For a lil perspective, someone similar in size like MAB would gtfko by Clottey, Margo, Cotto, Shane. Catchweights are a minor concession and he's well within his right to demand them, him being smaller and being the Aside. On the same token, his opponent are also within their rights to not fight, if they feel too compromised. But once everything is signed....it's really pathetic to whine and ***** about it after the fact.,
