Alvarez would give Floyd a ****ing fight but....he's too young. Why couldn't Alaverz be 26? I swear by it, Alaverz would rock Floyd's chin, but at 21. he can't pull it off. I'm impressed with Canelo. He put all 165 pounds behind his punches. He's real good. I was doubtful before but now....I like him. Floyd should avoid this Irish 'Mexican' kid. Props to Canelo tonight. God, Canelo is too young for Money. If Canelo was 26, I would guarantee him beating Money May. I like Canelo. :good
Stop using his age as any excuse. The only way ANY version of Canelo is ever gonna be able to beat Floyd is if Floyd is shot. Alvarez just isn't that good.
Oh man kid...I soooo disagree with this. Canelo is a smart, powerful boxer. He could handle smaller weight Floyd. I love Floyd. I'm not saying Canelo would win. but Canelo would give Money a better fight. I stand by that.
If he was trained well, canelos power would break Floyds shoulder roll defence. I think its his timing and patience. People get Floyd on the ropes and they get desperate, so they start swinging like crazy, wherever. Canelo might be patient enough to pick and choose his shots and he's accurate. Wouldn't mind seeing the fight.
Forget it, hes good, i love the way he puts his weight into most his shots, including his jabs, but as it stands, without asking Floyd to take on Middle weights and above there is only 1 man who can (maybe) be a match for Floyd. And to be honest times running out for that one too. I dont want to wait till one of them is shot.
We have no idea what Canelo's gonna look like by time he's 26. My hunch is..... not as good as you think. I actually think he's entering his prime right now. He'll probably peak around 23 or so. He's just not a great talent. Despite the size disparity, he'll never be good enough to beat a guy like Floyd.
I dont agree , I think Canelo is as good as he is going to get. Its not an age thing , but more of a style comment. Also I dont think he can get quicker than he is , and thats pretty slow.
This. Glad to see SOMEONE on here has common sense. These same fools are the ones that said that of Khan at 22, that by 25-26 he'd be a beast. Hell guess what, Khan is 26 and still beatable as Hell. Granted, Canelo is a better fighter than trash-Khan.
Wrong. Even if he were not to gain any more speed and power he will still get better do to the experience he'll gain with every fight. It was obvious from the Mosley fight that Canelo is a thinking fighter. His ring IQ will only increase.
Can you give me an example of another fighter that will probably remain at the same weight for his entire career and his ring IQ increased significantly? No heavies allowed. I cannot think of many , ring IQ usually goes with improving technique and natural talent . I think we are seeing the best of Canelo now.
Off the top of my head Orlando Salido. Are you saying at 21 Canelo's technique cannot be improved any further.
I could see him possibly improving his defense in a few years (Lord knows, he needs to) but he'll never be any better offensively than he was tonight, and he couldn't even hurt a 40 y-o Mosely.
