Nonito had a field day against Maldonaldo. It wasn't even competitive.

6 rounds to 1 for Donaire before he knocked Maldonaldo out

And Mijares didn't? last time I checked, he could only afford a draw against Maldonado..

Did you see the other replies?

Nonito is winning against Maldonado 6 rounds to 1 before he knocked him down. Mijares could only settle for a draw.

Now who struggled against Maldonado? :think

Taylor vs Pavlik 2 was the first time I've seen Mijares, and I liked what I saw. I think he has the tools to get a comfortable decision.

You have an exellent idea of how things work and seem to really know what going on in a mind of the boxer. I guess that is from the amature experience and I agree with you that Donair doesn't have a true defensive skills, but rather a natural relex/talent. Like RJJ for example; who relied on his relexs and natural talent for defence, but once we saw that was gone he's a completly different fighter.

However, as long as he has his speed/footwork/reflexes he's going to give Majares a tough fight and I see where you're coming from when under attack and lack the advanced defensive skills to protect yourself and probably lack the mentality Donair can box himself and is extreamly confident in his ability as a fighter and he's shown me some of his fights and sparring footage and I just don't see him breaking down mentaly or folding under pressure,If anything he's going to swing right back at Mijares.

    under attack

We all know that Mijares throws alot of punches , and thats exactly why I can see this being a hard fight for both fighters based on the fact that Donair is a natural counter-puncher and he counter with quick hard shots and capable of stoping Mijares on his tract the same way Mijares's jab could give him trouble. Right now If i had to pick , I'd have to go with Donair based on his quickness and hard counters, but I completly understand why you chose Mijares. I just don't see Donair folding under pressure :bbb

To say Donaire is no chance is dumb. Straight up.

In all honesty, Mijares didn't look that great last Saturday.

But I still reckon Mijares by UD... What about Mijares-Montiel? Montiel did much better with his opponent on Saturday than Christian... Have I missed something? Why is this fight never talked about?

115 and 112 have some great match-ups. Add Munoz, Arce, and Darchinian and there's endless possibilities.

Oh and when I said based on his quickness I didn't mean he was quicker than Mijares ,because both are extremely quick.I just meant quick enough to catch/counter Mijares volume punching style.
