I think this would be a amazing fight. If canelo gets past cotto he can fight mayweather...but you all know Mayweather will beat him :) P4P number 1 and proved it this morning. Who has more power Cotto or Canelo ? :D

Cotto improved to... hell, whatever fight I can remember. Canelo is on route for a better career, but so far Miguel may be a bridge too far. With that said, Cotto would be at a physical disadvantage, and until the body shot that slowed Floyd down a bit, he was dominated, getting hit almost at will. If Canelo is able to land just half of those punches - and on the offensive, his stats are Floydesque - Cotto is in big trouble.

As of today, I view this as a 50-50 fight, but slightly favor Alvarez due to the size advantage.

That's the fight that should be made, not freaking Canelo-Mayweather. Or maybe you guys would love to see a Pac-Cotto rematch now, since now even *****s are convinced Cotto is a great fighter. I'd favor Cotto over Canelo. Canelo is strong as a bull for the weight, not yet the polished article. Took too much time off at the start of every round today and allowed Mosley to get off many shots and sometimes they'd go unanswered. Don't know if it's a stamina issue or if it was tactical, he would have been in real trouble had Mosley not been shot and still had his speed, or against a fighter with the stamina to go hard for a full round. Pacquiao or Mayweather blitz this guy. He landed many good shots on Mosley, but it was 40 year old Mosley, who's lost a lot of speed and reaction and made it a brawl. I thought Cotto's defence to counters today was pretty good, considering it was Mayweather and for most of them he had his hands rights there blocking or partially absorbing the blow. I can't see how Canelo's counters and combos will trouble him too much if he prepares well and he boxes Canelo to a decision.

canelo is just better at everything. he is stronger, tougher, more durable (cotto fades after about 7 rounds) takes a better punch and punches harder. on top of all that, cotto is not going to get any better and canelo is young and has not reached his peak. do not be over influenced by cotto's performance against mayweather. it was an interesting fight and more competative than expected but mayweather won and did so convincingly.

I think this is the most logical fight to happen next and it will give Cotto a chance at a title. Its going to be a tough fight for Canelo because he fights in spots so much. He could easily be outworked by an opponent.

It was sad to see Mosley get countered and beaten up like he did last night, but I think Cotto will push Alvarez a lot more. I bet this fight happens next for both.

cotto wins. lets not do a fernando vargas to canelo and throw him to the wolves too early so he can burn out early too.

let him cruise and mature for a couple of years
