We all know how I feel bout Mayweather...but he really silenced me for the time being last night. It's clear as hell that Floyd has slowed down a notch or two, but is still clearly one of the fastest guys out there. Cotto took it to him and Floyd had to fight every second of every round. It wasn't just that though, Floyd took some shots and was bleeding throughout the fight. He really showed some grit in there, against a guy I thought he cherry picked, which I think backfired on him in the sense the fight was much harder than it should have been. All in all, great fight from both fighters. I hope Mayweather gets out of jail and gets another fight against a top guy this year.

    WAR COTTO

i never understand people who take sides towards fighters who they dont know personally and never will.

for all of floyd's arrogance and dissing, how hard is it to appreciate the man's skillset?

then again, floyd deliberately markets himself that way because he knows peoplepay to watch him fight because they want to see him fall.

You assume I don't like him because of his personality. That is only part of the reason why. I think he's ducked some fights in his career and I have never liked any fighter who won't go out and risk getting a loss. He avoids dangerous fights, but last night he did not. He was in there with someone who wanted it, BADLY, and dug deep to win. I respect the Mayweather I saw last night.

Mayweather fought the best fight of his career last night. He got pulled into the trenches and still came out on top.

His effort last night changed my opinion as to who will win should May and Pac ever fight.

I used to think Pac would roll him.....but not....EVERYBODY WINS.:D

aye i understand that part of it.

what i meant was if you label yourself a hater you're closing doors to debate with some people on this board because they have already labelled you:good

Credit to Floyd for fighting toe to toe.

Credit to Cotto for winning 3 rounds.

    Great fight.

a boss could rise above the pettiness of it - gives you the opportunity to battle someone else's opinion that you dont agree with.

    gotta be bigger than that

i hate mayweather, simple. but, give him props for an excellent fight. he chose to brawl than box. i was at the edge of my seat the entire fight.

Last night was the best result Mayweather could've hoped for. He clearly won, and preformed well. However, Cotto really made it tough for him.

You miss my point. Of course, I can sit here and be ignorant just to argue about Floyd with his fans, but that be stupid. The right thing to do is give the dude props for this fight, then argue my other opinions about him with his fans.

Sounds as if I missed a good fight.

For the record... I have always had the maximum respect for fmj`s skills & ability, I have called him the best boxer since Whitaker on numerous occassions, I have said since day one that he beats pac at any stage in their careers & at any weight, I still stand by that.

fmj being able to tough it out vs Cotto & win convincingly did not suprise me one fraction.... the one & only reason I dislike him & pacquiao is because neither have made a REAL effort to give the fans (& themselves) the biggest fight of the era... thats it, thats the only reason.
