I just watched it again and I scored it 117-111 for Mayweather the fight was more lopsided than I thought.
Pac beat a catchweight DRAINED Cotto. Also if that you argument...Floyd beat Marquez DECISIVELY...Pac always struggles with him.
I scored it for Cotto. When I saw it live (HBO) I didnt score it but I felt Cotto won and the HBO commentary was biased and ******ed and disgraceful. Now I just finished watching the British BoxNation Broadcast and the commentary was an absolute disgrace, the commentators should be fired, they were acting as if Mayweather was outclassing Cotto the whole fight. They all want to hype the Pacquiao-Floyd fight, that's why they are all acting as if Mayweather was winning the fight. I scored the fight the 2nd time I watched it and I had Cotto winning 6 rounds to 4 with 2 rounds even. I scored the 5th and the 11th round a draw but as I said, I had Cotto winning. No bullsh*t, no Floyd hate, I just scored it the way I saw it. Here is my scorecard: Round 1: 10 - 9 This content is protected Round 2: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 3: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 4: 10 - 9 This content is protected Round 5: 10 - 10 This content is protected Round 6: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 7: 10 - 9 This content is protected Round 8: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 9: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 10: 9 - 10 This content is protected Round 11: 10 - 10 This content is protected Round 12: 10 - 9 This content is protected ---------------------------------------------------------------- Final Score: 114:116 Cotto No way did Mayweather win this fight. NO WAY. A lot of rounds were close, and a lot of punches were blocked on both sides, but overall Cotto was outworking Floyd, showing good offence, landing good body punches and nice jabs. Floyd landed some decent shots from the outside, but only a few in the whole fight. Cotto blocked most of his punches or made him miss. HBO punch stats: forget it. Just a bunch of biased ridiculous crap. Cotto won, sorry guys, but that's how I saw it. And when you look at Floyd in between the rounds, you could see he was confused as hell. And when he pulled that stunt after the fight when he interrupted the Steward-Lampley fight conclusion, I knew Floyd knows he lost.
This is your first post....SHUT UP!!!! Nevada fights on a 10 point must systems..YOU CAN'T SCORE EVEN ROUNDS..
It's amazing what a difference re-watching a fight without the tension of the live event makes! Just re watched it as well and all of a sudden the fight doesn't even seem close at all! Had it 117-111 for Mayweather, only giving Cotto rounds 6, 8 and 9. I'm guessing the sight of floyd with a bloody nose kind of influenced me the first time (i actually gave Cotto the sixth mainly on acount of that) and i can understand how it may have influenced many others. Anyway, great perfomance by both fighters. Cotto obviously gave it his whole but Money by very clear UD.
117-111 Floyd rolled A LOT of punches. Cotto did better than expected. Deserves respect but he made some rounds close, thats why it appeared to be a closer fight but on a round by round scoring basis. Floyd won.
I did say all along that I thought Mayweather would rip Cotto with uppercuts if they ever fought. I can't say I was for sure right, but when Mayweather finally took advantage of the uppercut, he was killing Cotto. Should of used it earlier.
I don't see how people called it close, but I'm glad people are starting to realize it was a very one sided but entertaining fight that Floyd dominated.
