This is how you beat Floyd. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK-mB7CY_8w[/ame]
You rush him and smother him against the ropes and then you throw volume punches and grind out a victory.

In the Cotto fight for the first time we saw vulnerability in Floyd. This fight in my opinion has exposed Floyd in the same way the first Tarver fight exposed Roy.

Look at round 8 of the Cotto fight and you'll see Cotto discovered one strategy which works on Floyd, that is to fight him up close and wear him down. This is because now that Floyd has lost his legs he is vulnerable to this.

If you look at Roy Jones Jr vs Glen Johnson you'll see the exact same strategy worked against him. That up close and personal style works on fighters who have lost their legs, it smothers a quicker fighters work.

See for yourself. This Glen Johnson style is the style that can beat Floyd, and not immediately but by wearing Floyd down and then knocking him out.

Andre Ward is a master at this style. Andre Ward is the sort of fighter who could beat Floyd Mayweather Jr on style, Glen Johnson could beat Floyd Mayweather Jr on style, a prime Margarito may have been able to do it which explains why they never fought.

I don't think Pacquiao can fight this way though so I favor Floyd over Pacquiao. Oscar couldn't fight this way because he didn't have the energy.

NO comparison, Roy was gun shy and wouldn't let his hands go that night, save for the 3rd round i believe. Floyd got hit some BUT he gave better than he got, and in the end it was Cotto who was tired and ready to get KTFO, Chop Chop Corley did the same thing as Cotto and got beat up as well, Hatton tried and took a beating too, the guy to beat Floyd will need hand speed a and skill which brings us back to Margo.

Margacheato with out his hand wraps is NOTHING, FFS he made a very old SSM look like he wasn't shot to **** when he actually was, Mayweather would've easily wiped his ass with Margo.

It's incredible that after 16 years of being a pro and being 35 years old and fighting in 5 weight classes, that Floyd is still undefeated and at the top of the boxing world.

Did you see round 8? When Cotto had Floyd up against the ropes Floyd didn't know how to get off the ropes and wasn't able to fight inside. You can't win an inside fight just by blocking with your arms and shoulders, eventually you get worn down.

:rofl Did you watch the following rounds? That was ONLY 1 round, the body shots he threw throughout the fight took their toll on Cotto, and at the end it was Cotto who ran out of gas, it was Cotto that was about to get stopped, and it is Cotto who is rumored to be pissing blood as we speak. Cotto did well but he still got his ass kicked and there is no one else that could use that strategy.

Sorry guys, but Cotto didn't even come close. You need a lot more to beat Floyd. Floyd allowed that to be a close fight by engaging Cotto on the inside, and allowing Miguel to fight his fight. When Floyd needed to bank rounds, he outjabbed and outboxed Cotto from the outside with ease. If Floyd wanted to, he could have spent the majority of the fight outboxing and dancing around Cotto, and practically win a shut-out. He chose to engage Cotto for the sake of giving the fans a great fight.

Before this fight, I thought Mayweather was fighting more flat footed because he couldn't move like he used to. I was wrong, he still can, but now he's choosing to fight in this style, for the sake of exciting fights. Getting on his bike and running (like against Baldomir) won't get the fans to buy your next PPV

Floyd didn't come anywhere near stopping Cotto. Cotto did get tired and couldn't keep up what he did in the 8th round but it doesn't change the fact that Floyd did not have an answer for that. I think a fighter like Timothy Bradley could use that style to beat Floyd because Bradley does not have stamina issues like Cotto is notorious for having.

Floyd is a great inside fighter so I'm not sure that will work.. If I was fighting Floyd for the first 5 rounds I would aim at his right shoulder and any part of his left body.. that part of the body is there to be hit.. If one could do enough damage to his left shoulder to the point of bruising it or breaking it he would have to square up eventually.. hurt it so bad that he has to drop his left arm and shoulder down.. in the later rounds its would be head hunter time..

No one can do that to Floyd at 147lbs. Cotto managed to do that because he was 180lbs.
