No. I didnt blame Floyd. just saying i have been wanting this fight for a long time. and its better late than never. this is probably how it would have gone down back then.

I didnt say floyd doesnt have a chin. in fact I dont think its really been tested.

The look on floyds face didnt look comfortable. this fight was much closer than you see it. Cotto did a lot of body work that hasnt gotten attention. i like the way he let his hands go head and body. plus Cotto blocked a lot of Floyds work.

my point is Cotto pushed Floyd. i dont think Floyd expected it and I dont think America expected it (8-1 odds). but to his credit, Floyd impressed.

your making my original point. (in a margo/floyd thread no less) Someone commented...why does floyd get **** for having a close fight, hes only human..... I then said when you cherrypick or pick opponents you are supose to beat and its close, you open the doors up for critics. Pac got **** for not beating JMM in style.

dont forget Mosley and Oscar were past prime even before Floyd got them. Oscar picked Pac and Floyd. not the other way around.

Margarito would smile at Floyd and Floyd would smile back at Margarito. Floyd would slice and dice Margarito. Antonio gets frustrated but determined to pressure Floyd never stops coming forward.Floyd would then realize Margarito is not going anywhere so Floyd goes on his bicycle and coast to UD win.

Floyd outboxes him in a expedition. Margo is a lot slower than Cotto, a lot less skilled, hell he isn't even as explosive as cotto. He just have a way better chin. With margos speed and the time they wouldve fought, where mayweather was in his absolute prime, it wouldve been a shut out.

Absolutely! Why do you think they never fought. Circa 2008 and before and Margo runs Floyd out of the ring.

I could see Margarito crouding Floyd and giving him all kinds of trouble. Floyd has to be on his bike in that fight. He can't hurt margarito, and he doesnt throw enough punches to keep him off. Problem with Floyd is not really a mover, he always plants his feet at some point and goes into a defensive mode. Floyd is not a big guy either . There's a reason he dint fight him or Cotto, or any of the big elite welters years ago.

He was ready to fight Margarito when his contract was being extended as long as he could fight Oscar after, and Arum said no.

when u talk about margarito u should distinguish between margarito before cotto...margarito after cotto...because clearly, he was NEVER the same after the first fight with cotto. also, u can refer to him as margarito w/plaster or margarito w/o plaster.

no version of margarito beats floyd.

Compare Mayweather above 47 to Margarito above 47

Margo doesn't have the jab that Cotto does. when cotto stopped throwing it Floyd took the fight back over. Not to mention Tony has bad defense, wider punches and slower feet.

Disregarding the **** in the gloves or whateva, this have been tested already with a slick defensive fighter from the States and one aggressive body slammer going through punches from south of the border in Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez and I have been watching that today... No matter what people say, it was not a robbery cause Chavez took the fight to Pernell and drove him around, it was not Pernell circling and outlanding him - Pernell would jab and throw a str8 left and would eat a str8 right over his left shoulder or a monstrous body shot... But coming back to that potential but also fictional matchup, Margo doesn't feel pain alright but he has immense gaps in his boxing style, footwork, stance, changing directions or going after the spinning opponent, defense while he's on offense cause he doesn't move his head, he just absorbs everything... Basically it's a nonsensical fight now cause Margo was outworked and stopped by Cotto and Cotto was outworked by Mayweather. Everybody can't fight everyone. I personally believe that that fight would not be competitive for the reasons I mentioned unless Mayweather wants to fight everybody that Manny has and do better but he hardly would be able to stop Margo even with his eye problem.
