I've always felt that Kirkland just isn't skilled enough to beat Cotto, after watching him in with Molina I feel the same way.

 

I think Kirkland is skilled enough to cut the ring off and pressure Cotto and when he lands Cotto will back up.

 

I like Kirkland but he is at best B- fighter, and Cotto is elite, Cotto stops him!!!

 

Cotto too experienced.

 

Unless Cotto panics (still a possibility) he should be able to pick Kirkland apart with heavy power shots, Kirkland like Berto and Paul Williams does have great physical gifts BUT like the others the ring IQ and the skill just isn't there.

There are two fighters right now that are overrated at jmw. Kirkland the most. Cotto would dismantle him. Canelo while overrated as well would beat him too.

 

Kirkland, Canelo and Carlos Molina would ALL handle Cotto. Wake up people!

 

I don't know, I think the way Cotto fights backing up, plays right into Kirkland's game, he doesn't fight like Molina and isn't fast handed like a Canelo or Lara, doesn't have their power either, IMHO.

I think you see a Kirkland fight play out like a worse version of the first Margo fight.

if Cotto shows the same defensive skill he had saturday Kirkland will have a tough time finding the mark

Cotto made it difficult for a marksman like Floyd to hit him and got in on a defensive wizard like Floyd

if Kirkland cant get the bombs on his man early he is in a world of trouble

i think Ishida was a fluke and his chins held up since but Cotto has raw power

If Cotto survives and early storm he will win

 

Cotto by stoppage....if the version of jK that pounded angulo shows up, perhaps a different story...
