Floyd beat Zab, Cotto destroyed Zab. Cotto beat Mosley, Mosley IMO would give Floyd problems. Floyd has not faught anyone as good as Mosley, even at this point in his career. Not one guy Floyd has beat would beat Shane right now.

So even if he dosn't fight Cotto right now he needs to at least fight Shane.

that is basically what the problem is with boxing. Fighters saying "we're not ready"...Wasn't Hatton the unified Champion at 140lbs at the time Floyd was fighting Gatti? Correct me if I am wrong but If you're unified champion you don't got a choice but to fight anyone that is qualified to challenge your belts.

Its kind of the same situation with Floyd, He isn't unified champion at 147lbs but the sport puts him clearly as #1 at 147lbs and as well as the fact that he is #1 lb 4 lb...And Cotto is #2 at 147lbs so the way I see it is that if Floyd doesn't want to give Cotto his shot than he should be stripped of the belt or just retire. I know this fight is going to happen in 09 or w/e but just saying if it DOESN'T happen than its pretty bull****.

ok first let me say I am a hugh boxing fan- pbf, pavlik, and quillin are my favorite fighters (in that order). Since I live here in NYC and I have seen cotto's last 4 fights at the garden, I do not believe he can beat mayweather. sugar shane is well past his prime and if he did not run out of gas he could of very well won that fight. Now i am not taking nothing from cotto, actually i like the guy whenever we can get a humble champion in boxing it is great. I box for the sport, and one thing that I have learned is if you believe another boxer can beat you it is time to stop fighting. I strongly believe the pbf does not have the mind set that anyone can beat him, I said before paul williams lost that he was not the most fear fighter in that weight class- and then he lost. Now I had no clue he would lose that fight but he like cotto has flaws and for a novice boxer like myself to notice- I am sure gomez and the other fighters have noticed also. Can they expolit it is a another question all together. I do not want to see pbf and oscar fight again. the outcome will be the same. But I must say on in boxing is winning not enough!!!!!
I know we will always have something to say; if he knocks out the guy the guy was a bum, if the fight goes the distance, they danced the hole night. Bob Arum is trash; when pbf was in his camp, he was running and telling anyone who would listen that pbf was better than sugar ray- now that he is not he is scarred to fight cotto- however cotto is not fighting a 147 pd champion. he is fighting gomez. I know sometimes I think out loud

thank you for taking the time to read this

oh come on,we played that game before cotto-shane and floyd-hatton;'THE WINNERS MUST MEET'blah blah.
Lo and behold floyds not interested.fancy that.
I think floyd is getting off very lightly on here for ducking out of the 'final' of the ww box offs by the way.

I can agree with that. Hatton's case was a little different though. I think avoided that fight because of legitmate concerns about Mayweather. I don't think Mayweather is avoiding the Cotto fight necessarily, but he is putting it off so that he can make 25 million with DLH. He will fight Cotto in 2009 without a doubt IMO. Hatton-Mayweather would have been a great fight for boxing fans in 2005, but it was a box office smash in 2007. Shortly delaying the fight is just going to make it that much bigger and I think Floyd is anticipating that. Remember SRL and Angelo Dundee did this to Hearns too.

PBF is probably getting more $$$$ for "appearing" on Wrestlemania than Cotto is for "fighting" Gomez:lol:

That argument is irrelevant we can use it against Floyd also.

    1. Floyd went 12 with Victoriano Sosa :lol:
    2. Cotto KO Sosa within 4
    3. Just once and guess who won. Yes and by KO :!:
    4. We'll never know:nono

When was the last time Paulie have been KOd?

How you know PBF will even drop him once when PBF doesn't hit as hard as Cotto and Paulie has shown that he has a great chin.

Only once in that fight, and that was the only time in his carrier he has been down.
The ONLY thing I agree with you

    your IQ = ****

let me clear some things out for you, i can tell you haven't been watching boxing for very long.

oscar de la hoya has been down more times than cotto has, if you had actually WATCHED the torres fight you would know cotto only went down ONCE in that fight

the key points are highlighted for you.
