Someone posted that abusing testosterone may actually cause your body to stop producing it which would then legitimize treatment. So, basically if a normal healthy athlete needs replacement therapy it could be a sign of abuse in the first place. Plus, trying to peg what is considered a low number proved useless. There are different opinions on what is considered low and at what point you start treatment. The number Peterson's "doctor" quoted wasn't all that low and I saw NO references to "free testosterone" levels in any of the reading I did on replacement therapy. He flat out seems to have made that up.

Yeah, I've heard that. Apparently Jose Canseco's body has stopped naturally producing testosterone after years of heavy steroid use...Could be the case here, but I'd be more inclined to believe that Peterson didn't have any type of deficiency and just went to someone who would prescribe what he was looking for anyway.

Probably word was spreading you could beat the tests if kept it at a low level. I hope they all abandon the ratio test now. I'd guess it is less expensive though it has now pretty much been discredited and by Conte of all people. Oh the irony. Takes a cheat to catch a cheat I guess.

Lol @ everyone in 'HIS' sport is juiced. The same percentage of MMA fighters are juicing as athletes in every pro sport, boxing included.

Thats exactly what happens(ed). Different commissions have different ratios. Plus if you ask me the ratio is too high. If its not 1:1 **** em, you're a cheat.

It takes literally years of constant abuse for your body to stop producing Testeserone naturally. Either way no one in their right mind could then condone that as a means for further use when you've basically ruined your Endocrine system by abusing hormones.
NO athlete should be allowed HRT. Its too easy to abuse. And the argument for it is fallacious at best. If they really were, ill they wouldn't be competing in the first place. I mean seriously now .. healthy athletes on hormones???!?!? Really!??!?

Not really the same. Pac was in a much smaller weight class separated by a few lbs. He could have been walking around at 120-130 to make weight at fly.
Overeem on the other hand packed on at least 40lbs of LEAN muscle.

Some people have naturally higher testosterone levels than others that is why the Olympics have a 1:4 ratio and the younger fighters can have even higher than that.
People like Mark Hunt and bigger fighters often have a higher ratio of testosterone and it is natural

The average male has a ration of 1:1. Unless you have a thyroid problem or some pathological condition its highly unlikely that you'd have a ratio outside of that. And Hunt is a fat ****. I have a hard time believing his Test ratios are high when fat/obese people produce more female hormones. Either way Epitestosterone rarely ever goes up in men. If it does go up its usually a sign of abuse.

And what percentage is that? :think

Judging by the amount of fighters in each sport who have actually been popped for steroids, it seems that steroid use is far more rampant in MMA than it is in boxing.

lol, boxing is FILLED with EPO, and drugs of the same kin. Perhaps 'steroid' use is more prevalent in MMA, considering MMA takes a lot more physical strength and therefor muscle. But EVERYONE in the NFL is juiced, BB players juice in offseason and take amphetamines before games. Baseball players are notorious for steroid use, and stimulants. Don't be stupid just because you don't like MMA. What the % is no one knows, but simple logic leads me to believe it's high.
