Meh. Ward wins a boring uninpsired fight.

I'll pass.

 

I'm interested, but I see why Showtime was slow playing this. Right now I don't think the ratings would justify the cost to make the fight happen without a little more build up.

 

Look for HBO spending a significant amount of their yearly budget on this fight while Showtime will come through with the real interesting fights for the rest of 2012.

Ward would not be nearly as effective on the inside, because he wouldn't get there. My prediction is assuming the fight is at 175. I would not be surprised if it were a close fight that Dawson arguably deserves, but Ward gets.

 

Don't really see the rush for this fight. Ward should wait for the result of Bute-Froch and settle the score completely at 168 in the fall.

Then he can move up to beat Dawson and begin his journey to conquer that division. Because I would hate for it to be scenario of:

- Move up 175 to beat Dawson.
- Argue with Bute about moving up, too.
- Delay the Bute fight for another year or so.
- Then fight Bute at 175 or a catchweight.

It's all a bit messy and leaves room for potential doubt over the win. If you've got the chance to make the fight now when everyone wants it, you should do it. Noone gives a rat's ass about Dawson yet. That fight can wait.

 

Both boxers are technically very good and it'll go down to a close UD/SD. This chess match will go down to who wants it more, and i'll have to go with Ward, who seems more up for it. Dawson's mental lapses are the biggest problem. He should never be losing to boxers like Pascal, who i like, but are not in the same skill level as Dawson.

I'm going for a close UD for Ward. On a side note, i want this on neutral turf and not in Oakland!

 

Ward has more elite possibilities than Dawson, who is very very good and a solid champion.

 

I want Dawson to win because he beat Hopkins and i am a huge Hopkins fan but Ward is really good and i like him too.
A dream match for me but i just cant pick the winner.

 

Ward will win this fight even at 175. I am personally not curious to see Ward fights anyway. If he will be confortable at 175 I think he will wait also Bute at that weight after beating Dawson.
