I feel like the Cinco de Mayo argument is moot. It looks like they alternate fighting on that weekend, except in 2008 when Mayweather was retired and Pacquiao fought 3 times.

In any case, the two matches Manny had on that weekend failed to beat Floyd's relative numbers with the same opponents. Take that how you will since the argument looks like it's going toward how official are official numbers, etc.

 

Did have a better undercard though. Those are good numbers

They both have 2 fights in the top ten at the gate. Floyd has only done slightly better in one. A good amount better in the other. Anyone posted a list for total revenue.

 

I thought 1.6 or 1.7 still great numbers.

Its because floyd didn't hit over 1 mil until DLH and than not again until JMM.

(Granted he fought Ricky hatton and IIRC they get the fights for free over there, still did 800+k ppv buys.)

IMO Floyd's success as the face of boxing is due his fight with oscar and the 24/7 series that started then. His antics and skills have kept the people glued to his fights but Oscar and the 24/7's made him a household name.
