What marked improvement? Better cardio? His boxing is a little more refined than it was, but that's about ****in it. And he didn't need TRT to do that.
If only Henderson can keep the pressure up for 5 rounds max. I mean, the guy has always slowed down by the 3rd round onwards.
The best thing the UFC could do to honour the fans would be to make this a 3 rounder Paul Heyman would have seen to this
I'm not sure how any of those wins can be used as a barometer for Henderson who stylistically poses a VERY different threat. I don't see wins over a shot Rua/Rampage or Machida and Evans as evidence of anything much less a comparison. And i don't see it as strange at all. Iv watched Hendersons entire career from Rings until now. Iv only ever seen him legitimately hurt once and that was against Wand in their first fight. His recovery powers are exceptional. Never in his career has he been hit consistently and often. Bearing in mind Hendersons career has been incredibly consistent il go by what iv seen in the ring, rather than speculate on something thats never materialised.
I suggest you go and watch Silva's early fights when he was in Chute Boxe. Silva was one of the BEST fighters in the camp at the time and was a well known quantity world wide. So Jones better than Silva at the same age? That's fallacious at best.
 That's meaningfulness mate. One RnC is hardly evidence of a dismantling. If you think that's evidence of a dismantling why not post Rio Chonans flying scissor on Silva? A dismantling is like Kens loss to Tito the first time. Or Mir getting skull ****ed vs Lesnar in the second bout. Or Fedor over Mark Coleman both times.
No there has not. Henderson has been on TRT for donkeys years. His game is still effectively the same as when he turned pro. Except he's far more experienced and continues to win at a high level thanks to his recent renaissance. All TRT has allowed to do is extend his career far longer at a high level. What Henderson does show is the large gap in solid skills/toughness compared to fighters from his era with those currently.
None of what you said makes any sense. I don't understand how you can dismiss Dans wrestling creds, relegate them to 20 years ago and then use Shields as an excuse. Shields is one the best grapplers in the game... I never mentioned anything about his defensive skills on the mat. I mean serious buddy WTF is defensive wrestling? I never once itimated Dans weakness on the ground with his sub defense. But lets look at this logically. How many times has Dan lost on the mat and to who? I can only recall the Nog Brothers and Silva. Well thats some stellar company isnt it for a 15 year odd career no? Is Jones of the prime Nog, Silva calibre on the mat or even head to head. The resounding answer is no. Now i'm not using his amateur creds to pick the outcome of the fight. Learn to read and then understand what i'm writing. What i'm saying to you is Dan is one of the BEST wrestlers EVER to make the transition to MMA whilst using his Greco creds as successfully as Randy used his. The way you talk its as though you've never even seen Dan use his Greco in the ring. And seriously mate what on earth has Palhares got to do with the price of fish? If you're going to put together a retort at least stay on topic.
Yeah but there are two guys in the ring aren't there. Jones dismantled 'shot' Rua in a way that no one saw coming. I think that Rua and Hendo are comparible in terms of size, reach and also the need to get in close to land a shot. I think Hendo is also 'shot' as at the end of the Rua fight he could hardly stand and at his age, TRT or not, that may well have drained the well dry. I think Hendo's chin is a good as humanly possible so he won't get KO'd but he will get hit and hit a lot which is why I see a 'dismantling' on the cards. Hendo is a beast but Jones is too big, too smart and too good to get beat by a guy coming to fight with pretty much one weapon as I give the advantage to Jones in every other department.
He was rocked hard in the first round of the second fight against Wand. The knee Anderson nailed him with also hurt him badly also. And to the age thing people are talking about. Anderson hadn't had an MMA fight yet when he was Jones' age.
Fair enough. Personally i don't see it that way. That said Henderson is going to have a ton of problems closing the distance. That much all of Jones other victims will be the biggest problem.
I would never rule Hendo out, that's for sure. But I just think this might be one of his worst matches stylistically at the wrong time in his career. Even if Jones does take him apart Hendo loses no credibility in my eyes.
I said that Jones is a better "MMA fighter" than Silva was at the same age. You think that Jones would lose to the LHW equivalent of Takase or Chonan?
I didn't say that credentials aren't important. My point is that they don't determine the outcomes of fights. Guys with outstanding amateur grappling credentials get tooled by people with inferior accomplishments outside of MMA on a regular basis. If you're not willing to concede that fact, then there's no point in having an argument about it.
