Strange isn't it. That wasn't that long ago. But feels like ages ago. All i remember back then thinking was who the F is this Pe De Pano guy
I think that was my second full event I watched. I remember thinking, who the **** is the no chinned Mir guy. How times change...
I still ask myself that question. Along with why does this guy get so much man love for having a chin that Arlovski would be proud of. Those were dark times in the UFC division.
If it goes to the ground its cuz Mir fell like a tree face first to the ground with his eyes in the back of his head
To be fair that's pretty much what happened in the Nog fight and he still got the sub. I mean I'm picking JDS without even thinking about it but Mir does have a route to victory. It involves JDS acting stupid but meh stranger things have happened.
mir can sub anyone in the right situation no doubt. jds has very fast hands for a guy like mir. jds has pretty fast footwork as well. if jds stays focused and relaxed i could see mir eating too much punishment and going home a bloody mess.
If they end up exchanging on the ground it will not be because Mir has taken dos Santos down , he simply doesnt have the wrestling ability , Mir could pull guard but he'd have to lock up with dos Santos to do that , and risk entering striking range looking to lock up , very dangerous for a chinny Mir :deal If for some reason they do exchange grappling wise , dos Santos may get himself into a spot of bother but i dont see it At some stage Mir will hit the ground , but it wont be grappling , he will be dazed and confused having just been dropped , or fast asleep
Cigano has a great team to prepare his ground game.....Mir has the edge on the ground, but would be tough to him even in there.....
Not true Nog went looking for a sub , Mir was hurt , and Nog went looking for the submission , he got caught and Mir finished Not too dis similar to Mir Lesnar 1 , dos Santos will not do that , he's a striker/grappler not a grappler/striker
Yes but the fight got to the ground because Frank was knocked down by Nog, which was my point. And I made clear I don't think JDS will make that mistake but again stranger things have happened.
Mis read your post mate , apologies , i got as far as This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected atsch
It was a fantastic move (& achievement) by Mir submitting a master like Nogueira but it`s not exactly the prime Nog, his reflexes have slowed massively in the past few years... if you think Mir submits Nog at any point in their careers based on that fight then you may as well think Mir KO`s Nog at any point based on their 1st fight.... which in reality wouldn`t happen. Dos Santos will stop Mir IMO.
