He's one of our best amateurs, isn't he?

'Amateurs' is the key word there! No idea how good he might be as a pro. Anybody brought through the GB amateur squad in this era is far from a lock to make it in the pro game. Let's hope Yafai makes the transition!

He and his bro' are totally ill-prepared for the pro game stylistically IIRC...but signing with Matchroom seems the right way to go at the mo'.

Would love to see Eddie go for the top Olympians post-games....British or not :yep

Lomachenko over here or over there? We'll 'ave 'im :hey :deal

Seems a strange time for a top amateur to turn pro, this being Olympic year.

Can anyone fill in his history? Did he miss out on selection?

Both him and Selby qualified at the same weight, but Selby beat him in the box-offs I believe!

Dude didn't make Olympic team - he's to inactive during rounds for my liking, I hate to say it, but I think Haroon Khan could do him.

Haroon Khan may be even less qualified for the pro's.

I agree, but the dude got big bro's money to get a decent trainer sorted, maybe even Freddie, who knows, these are all hypotheticals, but from what I've seen from the amateurs, Selby is the best boxer of the three, Yafai likes to pick his shots but isn't active enough and Haroon seems like the brawler type (kind of reminds me of Huck for some reason).

Yafai is a top talent he's the last of the 2008 Olympians to turn over, with a good pro-coach he could be a British champion within 3 yrs

To qualify for two olympics you must be a decent fighter, hopefully the lad will do well.
