I seem to recall Holmes was hugely pissed for years afterwards (may still be now, probably) about the ref sitting on his chest to wave it off. Said he could've gotten up again at least. I also remember Holmes's attempt at a desperation uppercut getting tangled up on the ropes. That's a triple bummer - Tyson punches incoming, already down twice and wobbling and one hand stuck in the ropes.
Larry's not a good sport, he's always got an excuse. Many boxers are that way, they have to be to get in the ring again, but Larry takes it to an extreme. I've never heard of him giving any other fighter any credit about anything.
After the first knockdown, i started to feel bad for Larry. He was taking a beating from a monster puncher, it was only his great chin and heart keeping him in the fight.
