Hi, Just wonder if any of you use any types of drills such as dropping an anvil on your head etc. to condition your brain? If so what's the benefits on this? If not why are you against it? I'm researching it at the moment and would like to get a few peoples opinions. Thanks
Yeah I do anvil drop sets on my head 2 times a week. 56kg x 10 sets of 10 reps x 4 minute breaks You're head may hurt the next day though as long as you take some protein shakes you'll be fine
You guys are all idiots, who would drop a anvil on their head? If you want to build up skull resistance you have to do this the correct way just like everything else. Build up with small punches first to each side and the top with a 16oz glove on. One your head swelling goes down keeping dropping the glove size until you get to 10oz. You don't want to go any smaller than this as it could cause some serious damage.
It's a pretty well known fact that if you damage a bone it grows back stronger, say for an example you brake your arm. Same principal applies for your skull, but obviously you don't want to brake it. If you don't believe me google it.
i used to jump from 4th floor on head, had some fractures but now people are breaking hands on my head. no need for blocking punches with elbows or gloves, i just put my head out and they quit due to hand fractures.. ****ing idiot
Just in case anyone did believe what I wrote... Don't ****ing punch yourself in your head. I really can't be bothered with your lawyer contacting me when you have brain damage.
i used to drop myself 2-3 times a run from punching myself in the face while running. added in with the 2-3 times that i would drop myself with well placed body shots, those were some tough miles only making me tougher and hungrier. and i was always up before a count of 10 could ever be reached on every run.... to the best of my recollection. i did get pulled over twice while running by the police. they'd always jump out with a towel for my bulbous and bloodied face demanding that i tell them which way that the viscious gang had gone. they were always amazed at my dedication and pure passion that i displayed for the sport. yeah two times they made me stop the run because there was just too much blood and gore. its not easy to be a fighter, nothing about it is supposed to easy. if it was than everybody would be doing it. the rigorous sparring that leaves you standing beside yourself as you re-glove for your bag work. the freshness of it all as the ringing continues long after the last bell sounds. the dedication and love excelling you through every work out. I sarcasmed the one guy sarcasming the sarcastic remark of the other sarcastic guy, except for the previous paragraph.
It probably would help, but at the cost oc brain cells. I remember reading somewhere that marciano and his brothers would line up across the room from each other. they would then sprint head first at each other and collide head to head winner being the one standing. it probably killed a lot of brain cells, but no one ever argues about marciano having a weak chin. he was definitely born with a very strong chin, but i bet the slamming of the heads for years has at least a small increase in your ability to take a punch
