Pacquiao deserves 20-30%, nowhere near 50%. Who are we kidding?

He has a boss, his boss takes 27-30% of his earnings. He hasn't done the #'s May has, fought weaker opposition than Mayweather.

Why is this still in discussion?

I think he deserves more than that and here is why.

Manny has a career high payday of $25,000,000. With the Floyd fight, it would generate more revenue than any fight in the history of the sport-Approx $195,000,000.

Manny Pacquiao CAN'T make more than $25,000,000, MAYBE $30,000,000 (INCLUDING PPV'S) if he fought Cotto again. Floyd just made $50,000,000 as a payday for Cotto. $32,000,000 plus $18,000,000 in PPV profits.

So Manny should get $40,000,000 which would be $15,000,000 more his highest payday. Floyd would end up with $65,000,000 and he would end up $15,000,000 his highest payday.

The fight would split $105,000,000 as a VERY GOOD projected number.

What we know is that Oscar and Floyd split $79,000,000, though only $45,700,000 of that came from the PPV revenue profits. $33,300,000 was the guarantee; $23,300,000 and $10,000,000 to Floyd-that was with 2,400,000 PPV buys.

So with 3,000,000 PPV buys projected, we can logically assume the fight generates $195,000,000 in revenue. The fighters would split 1/3 of that, thouhgh Pac would have his guarantee of $40,000,000 and Floyd would take the PPV, which would be $65,000,000. $65,000,000 plus $40,000,000=$105,000,000.

Manny asking for 50/50 is stupid and ridiculous. He doesn't make but $25,000,000 with his PPV profits. So if he doesn't take it, then PAC WILL NEVER MAKE $40,000,000 OR MORE. At 50/50 Floyd would bring in $52,500,000, and Manny would bring in $52,500,000. Floyd would only make $2,500,000 more than his highest payday of $50,000,000 while Manny would make $27,500,000 (more than double) his highest payday.

Floyd can go fight Cotto for $50,000,000 again. Fight Ortiz and make another $41,000,000. Fight Khan for $45,000,000...and all the time, Manny will make $25,000,000 at best.

With the $65,000,000 and $40,000,000 Floyd would make $15,000,000 more his highest payday and Manny would make $15,000,000 more his highest payday.

To the people who bring up forbes recent money rankings..irrelevant because your including Pac's endorsements. Meanwhile he doesn't earn anything near what Floyd earns. Manning doesn't get a higher payday with the Broncos or Colts because he has endorsements. Elway could care less about his endorsements.

So take the $40,000,000, you can't make it anywhere else and Floyd can just step on you and keep taking in $41,000,000-$50,000,000 paydays.

Feel like being a troll today?

Since Floyd has fought weaker opposition, he should take 20-30% according your silly logic.

No matter what numbers you work out, these guys are getting insane amounts of money. There is NO difference between 40m and 65m, none what so ever.

Therefore, they should just split it down the middle and be done with it.

I'm not meaning to come across as someone picking sides, but Pacquiao once said "I accept the tests, but something else will come up". As soon as it seemed that the tests were resolved or were no longer the issue, the money thing comes up.

If I were either fighter, I'd take the fight for free, because if they win they solidify their name as the greatest of all time on the majority of people's minds. But as long as there is disputes in the money, how can someone be denied half? Sure Mayweather makes more and sells fights better, but they are both sharing 50% of the ring come fight night.

What would settle everything is make a winner takes all clause like Groves and DeGale wanted to do.

Chael Sonnen sells the majority of the Anderson Silva fight, but he won't be getting more money than Silva would.

50-50 is the only fair solution to a fight that is past 3 years in the making.Mayweather has never fought anyone at his level.Pacquiao is.Both pound for pound kings of the sport.Money isn't everything. They're both filthy rich already. Both should retire if the can't make this happen. They're not fighters.

Let me simplify all that for you. Basically, Mayweather and Pacquiao are the 2 biggest earners in the 147lb division, and without one another neither will get their biggest pay day. This is why it needs to be done. The fans want to see it, and general sports fans want to see it, so they need to make it happen! All this BS about he's not earning the biggest purse out of us both, but at the end of the day, Pacquiao is the next biggest earner, so put them together and you have one of, if not the biggest fight in boxing history.

It takes two fighters to make the biggest fight of all time.

Manny deserves 100 percent. Let me know when Floyd picks on some one his own size and fights for the 150 lb title Pacquiao vacated to bait Floyd into a fight for the linear 150 lb title.

This will be much bigger than Floyd vs. De la Hoya. And it won't happen unless Floyd has an ego-check.

So am I the only one who thinks comparing number of buys is far more important than what each fighter personally pockets?
