Solis has 18 wins. In 18 wins he has 18 wins over 18 Clevel+guys. Not bad for a waste of talent.:think

However, the guy is in desperate need of some focus. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt here, in that while he was in bad shape last night, he was highly likely in far worse shape 10 weeks ago when he began serious training for this fight.

After the surgery he had, it's very possible that he swelled up to well north of 300. Maybe even 320-330. And yeah, that's real bad, but considering the possibilty of it, and seeing him down to mid 260s is actually a good sign. (If the did a post fight weight, he may have been 264 for all we know).

Let's wait until late summer when he fights again, and if he's matched again in the top 100, he'll likely come back down around 250-255. He could fight comfortably between 230-245.

Im not all that worried about his weight ATM considering the surgery and layoff factor. The fact he came back and looked good from what I hear against a solid C+level fighter is good news if your a fan. And 267 is a lot less than some of us figured he'd be.

He acknowledged in the post fight interview that he needs to get into better shape in the future.

"Big Mac Attack" Solis should be nowhere near 267 f'n lbs. He really needs to sit down and think, am I serious about boxing or not. There's really no excuse for this other than laziness, he should be coming in at least 230-240 tops.

Forget about the weight tables. The tables don't accurately indicate weight norms for individuals who are naturally wider and thicker (aka bigger boned) than the average person.

Solis is a very husky guy. He's 6'1", but anything around 240 lbs is appropriate for him. He's got a big frame and he can carry the weight without really being fat.

I'd say when Solis exceeds 250 lbs, that's when his weight is unreasonably high.

He has an awful Glass Jaw. Even if he did get in shape it would not matter because he is a savage KO waiting to happen.

Some good discussions points in here, but in the end... I gotta agree with the thread starter. Solis being out of his optimal physical condition has hindered his potential achievement as a pro.

This man has some serious skills, but he needs to work on winning the battle with himself outside of the ring -- the one vs. discipline. :-(

Lack of discipline. He and Arreola should have a trilogy with a pie-eating contest immediately after each bout.

I understand that Solis is now co-promoted by Duva.

The fight I'd like to see next is Solis vrs. Kevin Johnson. This fight was about to happen before Johnson got his shot against Vitali. Time to make it as an eliminator. It's not right for Solis to get title shots based on beating up Oener and Don King fighters--he should face a legit opponent.

Solis vrs. Boystov or Ustinov would also work.

Yeah.....all great fights, and unlike Boystov, Solis would relish at the chance.:D
