Hey all. Went down from 240 to 167 in the last 5 years.. Hit a plateau, however, and all the running +calorie deficiency doesnt seem to do the trick. Has anyone tried the low-carb diet? Any experience/info appreciated.

    Cheers

Just count your macros and change them until you start to see progress again. If you've been constantly dieting for a long period, try taking a week or two off, then resume.

The Atkins diet is just another low carb diet, really.

I'm currently doing a keto diet at the minute which is very similar. High fat moderate protein sub 20/30 grams of carbs per day. It's working very well, I'm
Losing body fat at quite a rate but not an unhealthy one. Cycle it, I carb up once every two weeks, but I've been looking into carb back loading too (I think there is a thread on here about it) this is the prep phase. Lose as much body fat as possible, then carb back load after heavy weights sessions (assuming you lift weights of course)

If you're following a diet which has its own name (Atkins, Keto, Slimfast etc.) it's usually pretty gimmicky and has something important missing. You're better off just following a healthy eating plan. If you want one sent over free of charge drop me a message with your email address and I'll send you the same one I send my clients.

for a fighter i would never recommend the atkins diet. you need energy to work and build your muscles, the atkins will leave you feeling like youre running on empty when youre training.

for somebody wanting to just lose weight i guess its fine, but still i wouldn't want to walk around with my bodies energy tank being empty.

Before to you start a diet plan, i thing you need to know some important point like decide weight goal, body structure, daily routine activities. Theses points help to chose and plan better diet. It is quit necessary for every boxing player to maintain body weight but with a strong and flexible muscle. With this must do regular training session.

    Hi Mikaeel,
My friend lost 45 lbs through Atkins diet program and must say it works. Those who want to lose weight must follow Atkins diet as it is safe and effective. Before starting Atkins diet my friend tried to lose weight through raw food but failed to stick with it.

that diet is horrible for athletes though. if youre just some slob on a couche it would be great for you.
