    Even a green Whitaker seems seasoned at that time and "could" beat all the LWs today.

    That's damn impressive. He boxes like a seasoned vet; picking his shots, patiently, masterfull footwork, et cetera.
    0-0-0 Whitaker could have beaten many champs imo, then and now.
    DLH looked good when turning pro, but this was from another level imo.

    The ref. did a favor to Pea's opponent. he was taking a LOT of punishment and to think Pernell was only 20, he showed great body movement when on defense.

    yea i was about to say, his opponent seems like he wasn't that big of a scrub I mean he wasn't some guy that came out of a bar and was offered to fight against a pro debut. Even then Whitaker just unleashed a serious beating.

    Even before he turned pro Whitaker was kicking Camacho's ass in the gym when Camacho was at the height of his career, and by seeing videos like this you can come to understand why.
