Gamboa is the biggest prospect around at the moment - best i've seen for a long time. Can't think of anyone who where this good this early in this career. If he avoids burning out, injuries or whatever, he'll be a p4p master.

I can't wait to see him on FNF tonight. He reminds me of a young Jones and Guzman, unreal talent. Hopefully we will get to see him on American television a lot this year.

So far Ahmet Öner's work is perfect... he's put tremendous effort in the Cubans not just for their pro career (Gamboa's very good rankings even before today's first title fight) but for them to find a new home, get settled, VISAs, other papers, even help for their families...

And so far it's only Gamboa who's producing some real results, the other two, Solis and Barthelemy are a lot more lazy and they don’t give a f* that Öner probably saved their career (and future) before some major personal problems could’ve ruined it. Handling them are a big challenge but it seems at least Gamboa understands that solid work, frequent fights and quality opposition will bring his career (and life) to a new level, because the skill level he’s on, there are levels of stardom an amateur boxer can’t even imagine. But having great skills and producing them into great results is not the same thing, just ask Odlanier and Yan.

Of course Gamboa’s yet to meet a really tough opponent who'll make him fight a REAL fight for Yuri to understand this is not a game, but the way he’s walking through guys like Kebede or very highly ranked De Jesus, I don't know if there will be any tough moment before a world title challenge.

Just a few hours until Gamboa's first title fight...

... so it's time for your predictions!

Just a reminder: Edwards has never been stopped and it's a 10 rounder for the NABF Super Featherweight title.

So what's it gonna be? Gamboa on points? By KO? Upset?

:yep He's cocky as hell in that ring. Needs to learn how the use his energy more economical imo, rather then banging away. Ah time will tell. Go Yuriorkis!

PS.: I am surprised how Khan already went the full twelve.

Yep, Amir had his bad moments earlier in his career but in his last bout he made a perfect fight... very mature, very focused, very disciplined, good stamina & punch output... but I don't know if Edwards' gonna bring enough to the table to make Gamboa fight that kind of a fight. Probably not.

His good, but maybe I would be more excited if he was in a higher weight division.

That was quick as hell! Even if the boxing public wanted to see him in work finally, he made it so quick that he really couldn't let anyone analyze him...

-Edwards was a ranked top15 guy!
    -He has never been stopped!
-His last win was a DQ win over Norwood, a guy who chickened out from the Gamboa fight
    -This was a title fight!

My that was quick! Anyone else want to jump on the bandwagon NOW?

Did you posted that BEFORE the fight? :huh

-The fight, as an ESPN televised event is not on YouTube anymore so if anyone wants to see some moments (the fight was just a few moments altogether) there's a short clip on the ESPN boxing site.

Yeah.. I also wrote Gamboa TKO1 in lbarrow's predictions thread. He's clearly the best prospect in years and the talent was evident from his first pro fight. I think Gamboa will TKO Chris John this year if they fight.
