how would calzaghe do against the SMW's of today...ward, froch, bute direll etc?

Ward would be his toughest fight due to his style but i see Calzaghe outworking him. I think Wards wins a few of the early rounds before Joe figures him out and adapts

Lucian Bute and Ward would beat Joe.

Joe would beat them all.

 

Kessler/Calzaghe was pretty competive fight for first 5 rounds. Ward beat **** out of Mikkel and that fight was more like a mismatch.

 

Thats what Joe was very good at - He always had a Plan B or C and he could adjust.

Ward hasnt been tested enough to determine whether he can adjust if necessary and Kessler hasnt been the same boxer since Joe took his 0. I hope the Viking Warrior continues racking up the Ws and gets a belt around his waist again (and I dont mean some meaningless silver belt - thats just insulting)

 

All you brits hype your boxers up tooo tooo much. Calzaghe was good but hes not great, so he beat an old Hopkins (which I thought he lost) and who dropped him and beat a OAP in RJJ who also dropped him. His perfect record is padded!! Andre ward has already fought better opposition and hes still near the start of his career. Lets be honest hear ok. Hopkins at his best would beat him, RJJ at his best would slaughter him, Andre Ward would **** on him have you even seen Ward fight, have you seen how he stands square on and still dosent get hit, similiar to FMJ but he dosent need the shoulder roll... come on man get real!! Dawson, Dirrel would be close fights and yes he would easily beat Froch who is shite!!!

 

Ward and Dawson might possibly beat him, the others I think he would decision.

Cal would beat them all of them except Ward at SMW, but they would all be VERY tough fights for him. He rarely faced competition as good as this.

Cal has little chance against the LH kings, like Dawson. He would get KOed, he lost his chin when moving up to LH, he did the right thing in retiring ASAP from that division.

actually changed my mind, he might not beat Bute, maybe a draw would be more in line. They seem about the same level.
