I don't worry that much about the Amateurs. Things change. If this fight were to take place, its going to have to be at WW or forget it. Like Cotto, Ortiz proved to be stronger/better at WW than jrWW where he was drained. I wouldn't be surprised if Khan benefits from the weight increase either given his frame. Two healthy fighters...sounds good. Khans a good fighter. I think he could be better with someone to show him a few more things. Ortiz, good but you never know which version of him shows up. He needs to be more consistent. And he too could use some help in getting better from a technical stand-point. Good fight.
This fight would have to happen at WW as I don't think Ortiz is gonna go back down to LWW anymore. If motivated/focused Ortiz shows up, he has a good chance of lighting Khan's chin up. It would be a good fight though.
Yea sorry i meant at welterweight not light, was too busy thinking of khan vs garcia for a moment there lol.
Ortiz is skilled, heavy handed and can bring pressure he can also take a decent shot and ill give him a pass on the Maidana fight and say he wont quit when the going gets tuff again. If he can catch Khan and work inside he wins - Khan is awful inside and sooner or later someone is gunna spark him again unless he improves either his inside fighting or learns to really spoil If Khan can keep Ortiz at range it becomes a pick 'em fight. Where Khans speed might be the deciding factor
Ortiz breaks him. People give Ortiz ****, but he's rough, tough, has power in both hands. Decent speed and a tenacity that Khan clearly can't handle.
