Always heard a lot about a fighter training too much before a fight....just wondering what everybody's thoughts were....not to mention he has to prepare for a different style than what he previously was

    discuss......

    Maybe..

He is in good shape atm ( 2 weeks before fight condition) and is looking at having a 4-5 week camp

If he started his new camp where he left off from within 3 weeks he would be more than ready...

He can easily spend 2-3 of his 5 weeks just slowly building up and maintaining his condition

    won't be a problem

I still want to see how Ruben Tabares works as his new Conditioning coach

Khan looks aesthetically better than when he was with Ariza but we all know muscles don't mean much, Ruben seems to like his fighters lean (like himself)

Haye is fighting on July 14th same as Khan am I right? Haye's trainer is Ruben...
How does this scheduling work out eyy?

Overtarining is just one tremendous hazzard and Amir will surely be overtarined when they put the date on officially. In my opinion, Amir should just rest a lil bit and do not talk with the media at all about Peterson, garcia, JMM, whoever... He's gonna grow very anxious by fight time.

freddie wont let that happen, he'll taper khan off correctly. if khan loses, it'll be because of garcia, not over training, under-preperation or otherwise.

    No.

He's young he can survive 12-16wk training camps...he might come in a little too light on fight night though, maybe 148lbs only. It's hard to put it back on overnight when the body adjusts like that.

Over training happens to older fighters like shane mosley who had back-to-back camps starting with 8 weeks of camp for berto when berto bailed...then went back for 8 more weeks to fight mayweather. He looked like a zombie.
pacquiao sparring for ten weeks in prepartion for marquez III also hurt him bad too.

Roach has told him to take 3 weeks off, eat what he wants, relax and enjoy himself. I heard an interview from Alton Towers today so Amir is doing as he's told:happy Then at the end of the interview he said he was hitting strength training for a bit before the next camp:patsch

Potentially maybe, I mean Khan was training and like a week away from his big rematch

now he has to go back to training after being peak and ready and has to start over and prepare for a different fight all together

plus his body now must be at peak readyness for a fight what does he do in the mean time

i feel like he shoulda took the quick replacement and then fought Garcia

It's possible. but I think Roach is smart enough to realize this and probably slow khan down a bit and plus Khan is still very young. But I agree they have to be aware of that.

He's young and in his prime so it should not be a problem. But he should take a little time off, then go back at it working on a new game plan and strategies for his new opponent.

Amir should win, but by no means should he underestimate Garcia who is hungry and will fight his heart out defending his belt for the first time.

Could be bad too....it only takes three weeks to lose all your gains from training. Strength, speed, rhythm, power, timing.

He could beat danny garcia coming off the couch cold...but a short camp like this, I'd doubt he'll look that sharp. hope im wrong
