Andy Lee: my dream is to win a world title not just fight for one http://www.irish-boxing.com/2012/05...inning-a-world-title-not-challenging-for-one/
and he has the ability and fortitude to do so, in my opinion. he's leagues ahead of darren barker and matthew macklin, and they pushed martinez to the brink. not only that, andy lee has power and continues to polish his boxing skills. I call the fight with chavez jr. a 50/50 fight but I think andy can pull it out.
No, actually he isn't. His two best wins are the rematch against Brian Vera (against whom he is 1-1) and a life and death struggle against Craig McEwan. Just because he is Manny's bff doesn't make him a world beater.
In terms of resume, you've got me. I cannot counteract the fact that macklin, at the very least, has the better resume, but I think technically speaking andy lee's superior to both. we shall see, though. the only way to truly know is by throwing him in there with the elite at 160. also, why did martinez fight barker instead of lee?
I have a feeling that I'm going to end up very pissed off and frustrated with Boxing, again, in the aftermath of Lee-Chavez.
Lee wanted to avenge the Vera loss first and DiBella didn't think he was ready for Martinez anyway after the McEwan fight.
lee gunna get him , cant wait , alot of good underdogs guna bring it banks vs mitchell garcia vs khan lee vs chavez
Good for Andy, Let's hope he feels this way on fight night. (I don't see it, But hey good for Lee...)
That was for the Macklin date, not Barker. And DiBella says he offered Lee to HBO for half as much as Macklin wanted but the network preferred Macklin.
