Will Bute-Froch prove rematch-worthy?

If Bute win by decision there won't be a rematch because for Bute to win by decision in Nottingham it will have to be a very decisive victory.

 

If they put on a toe to toe FOTY candidate then I would have to say yes.

 

Bute will beat him convincingly might even KO Froch. Froch would trouble Bute in the first 3 rounds and that's about it.

 

:deal this. But if Bute puts a better performance than Ward, it will be no rematch.

 

Decisive victory be it points or stoppage either way should nullify any rematch.

 

I honestly don't think it will be. . . Well, at least for the mainstream fan. . .


I don't see Froch trying to make this a war at all. . . He's going to first see if he can keep Bute at range with the jab. . If that means making rounds boring, so be it. . . He's not going to risk barging in the front door and getting caught. . . At least not at first. .

If he can keep each round close, and debatable enough just by moving around on the outside, and pumping 75% jabs out, he'll do that. . .

If he is just getting thoroughly picked off - Bute countering with straight lefts over his jab, etc. . THEN I think he'll try to make it a rough fight. . . Try to close the distance, get inside, and just rough Bute up. . . . But in that case, it'll probably be more of an ugly clinching fight than a pure "two-way" exchange battle. . .

Hope I'm wrong, though! Still can't wait to see how it plays out!

I believe the victor will win emphatically, we all know what Froch brings to the table but Bute is an unknown force at this point, if he lives up to the hype i dont think Frochy hears the final bell.

 

If you think this will be an easy fight for Bute your nuts, he could win but Froch ftw.

All they need to do is score a few close rounds to the right guy and we can have a score card of 116-112/115-113 and then each fighter gets to make all this money all over again. I see it happening and I dont see either guy complaining

 

shows how much you know mate. general consensus is that froch will have his success in the later rounds with bute taking the first half

 

I haven't been following boxing intently this year unlike past years but this fight has me a lot more excited than anything a Pacquiao or Mayweather could muster.

Even if Bute is as good as many think, he isn't a master boxer and Froch will compete tooth and nail. Its unlikely to be a war (if it does turn out that way then it won't be going to Bute's plan) but it should be a tense competitive fight between two of the best in a competitive division. We know exacty what Froch can and can't do, and we don't know yet if Bute is a glass cannon or the whole package.
