What exactly does ward bring on the table?

He is a featherfisted fighter who is not even faster than Prime RJJ(infact,I doubt there is one faster than RJJ).

    RJJ would clown at Ward.

    Many intangibles in this fight.

Roy never stepped to such a well schooled and dedicated boxer like Ward, but Ward never stepped to a physical monster like Roy.

I think it'd be competetive with Roy winning on sheer physicality, or Ward winning by adapting.

I go for the proven skill and substance of Ward over the flash of Roy any day.

I'm not a huge fan of Rjj, i realise he was a massive hypejob, but, Ward has no power and maybe couldn't even damage Rjj glass jaw, then you have the fact Ward's jaw is glass too, Rjj much faster, i see this as a RJJ 3 round KO win.

Roy has Ward on pens and needles all night. Roy 117-111. Ward gives him a little trouble early on when Roy puts his foot on the gas and makes it rocky for Ward late.

Jones W 12. It wouldn't be the easiest fight for Roy, but come on! Roy would win a clear decision. The scorecard part of the thread is stupid. How the f*ck can anyone say how three judges would score the fight? We can only say how WE think it would go. I think a 116-112 type of decision would happen.

People need to get off the "Glass Jaw" b.s.
He really never looked the same after he came back down in weight. He was like a ghost.
If it was glass when he was healthy, Toney would have knocked him out...as well as Griffin who was landing shots in their first fight.

    as for the fight, at SMW, Jones UD {Prime vs. Prime}

  13. WARD reminds me of a young hopkins but better in the middle of the ring and better combinations.
    Tough style for Jones.

    :patsch

The guys jaw was glass plain and simple, dropping weight to your NATURAL weight doesn't turn your jaw to glass, he knows it and so do people who have dropped weight and lived it, that's why he avoided huge hitters like G-Man, Benn etc.

Wards made of glass too, but Ward has no power at all, RJJ would humiliate him.

Griffin? bum, Toney, many issues with him making that weight and fight, but he was also a steroid abusing hypejob that couldn't cope with Rjj's speed, so insignificant points.:patsch

Ward's not going to win on the outside and Jones is too dynamic for Ward to ever pin him down for long on the inside. Jones UD, 9-3 type decision, with Andre picking up a few close rounds due mostly to activity. I expect Ward to retire as an ATG, but Jones is Jones.
