Froch might be one fight away from catching up with Calzaghe

Calzaghe hinted that he would come out of retirement in a recent interview for the right payday.

I can't imagine a better time for him to fight the rejuvinated Froch.

Calzaghe has only been retired a couple of years and he stays in shape. This fight would make a fortune!

 

I doubted it would be huge fight!

 

What I meant was it would be huge in the UK where Calzaghe is a household name and Froch is on the brink of doing the same thing.

It would fill a football stadium without doubt.

Most likely Kessler vs Froch 2 which is great for boxing. Froch wins the rematch convingly

 

How could Froch not be interested in a Ward rematch? This is the only fight that can truly solidify his legacy... If he's going to have one. Bute is a B- fighter at best. How can he be satisfied with that win? He needs to get in the gym, break down some film and get another ass-kickin from S.O.G! Oakland California baby! Where real ballas come from. That ain"t Sherwood Forest!!!

 

Froch will never catch Joey the cokehead until he can handle S.O.G. and / or at least avenge the Dirrell robbery where he truly got his ass kicked. These are the only things Froch should be concerned with!

its never been in Zaghes nature to take a fight that he thinks may possibly end his zero loss record, so he wont come back for this.

 

Calzaghe beat Hopkins when B-Hop was in The Ring Magazine's P4P top ten.

Froch lost to Kessler (who Calzaghe beat) and Ward (who Calzaghe would have easily outworked).

I like Froch, the dude is a warrior, but he's not close to Cazlaghe.

 

'On the brink' of being a household name? Doubtful.

I reckon Tyson 'gypsy' Fury is more of a well known name to the general public at the moment.

Froch needs more mainstream media coverage. His bird getting her tits out while being drunk staggering out of a nightclub on a Saturday night might help with this.

Stories of his tough childhood generated nary a blip on the UK consciousness.

 

Froch has to beat Kessler to be near Calzaghe and has to beat Ward and Dirrell to possibly rank alongside or even above him.

Kessler wins the rematch IMO though which will finally settle the arguments (yeah right haha)

 

Froch has surpassed Calzaghe in terms oftop opponents, but he needs to add a long string of defences against Tocker Pudwill type bums before he can be considered Zaghes equal, and that will take a good few years yet.

Taylor, Abraham, Dirrell and Johnson aren't top opponents. Froch has Bute, who is comparable to Lacy. He also has a losses to Kessler and Ward which can't be forgotten. Even if he beats Kessler, this is a faded past prime Kessler, the Kessler that Joe beat would school Froch hands down. Then we have Joe's wins over Reid, Woodhall, Mitchell and Brewer all former world champions and in their prime. Then finally Joe's win over Eubank. Joe was the undisputed SMW champion, Froch has never been undisputed, or even unified. Of course, this is leaving out that he moved up to LHW and beat Hopkins.

It's not close, and even if Froch beats Kessler in a rematch, it's still not close.
