The TS used some harsh wording and he may be coming from the fact that his prediction was wrong, but truth is Froch is very limited in so many aspects. He's got a warrior mentality though. I don't see him competing with elite boxers. There's also a lack of competition in his weight class, so of course he will stand out.
Awesome performance and show last night though.

    Buddy, look at his resume.

The reason there's 'no competition' is because he's ALREADY FOUGHT EVERYBODY.

Carl Froch is not overrated because you can't be a 3 time world champion without fighting somebody. He fought the best 168lb fighters in his weight class and beat all of them except Kessler and Ward. I think this fight proves that Carl is a world class fighter and has a few exciting fights for him line up in the future !

6-2 against the following: Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson, Ward, Bute. . . Lol it really doesn't get much more world class than that. . And BACK TO BACK?! AND 5 of those 8 on THE ROAD in DIFFERENT COUNTRIES?! Nahh. . Forget about it. . .

Most boxers in this modern fistic era don't fight this level of competition over their entire careers, much less consecutively, and on the road. . . .

    Thankyou Sir.

Bearing in mind that Froch was 32 when he fought Pascal, he's crammed an entire legacy into what is historically a fighters sun set years.

Guys like Froch and Cotto deserve all the respect in the world.

I think you're smart enough to know and see what Froch is and isnt capable of and where he lacks (which is too obvious).
And no, his resume does not point out any competition where he show cased something other than what we saw last night.
He is a world champion. That, no one can overlook. But his weaknesses are just as obvious.
Once the high of the win wears off and I come home and properly type on PC instead on phone, we can get into a proper discussion.

Oh, Froch definitely has some weaknesses. . . But to say he has been one-dimensional is silly. . He has shown he can box off the back foot behind the jab, make it a dogfight on the inside, stand in the pocket at midrange and trade bombs, counter-punch. . .

Yes, Andre Ward was, and will always be his kryptonite, because he can stymy anything Froch can do, or simply do it better. . .

But he has layers in his game. . he's like an onion in that regard.

I'll look forward to that discussion pal. Before making your case, please take the time to consider the following :

    1. His resume shows much more than we saw last night. Froch reverted to the old Carl somewhat last night, as opposed to the far more lax version who Boxed Abraham, Johnson and (to a small extent) Andre Ward from range.

    2. Yes Sir, Froch has obvious flaws. I'd counter that by telling you that every fighter has flaws. What matters is how you over come them. Carl Froch has several more flaws than Joan Guzman for example, but who would you put your trust in?

    3. Froch is a clear case of Will and determination winning the day. He respects the sport, that much is evident by how he always turns up on weight and in shape. He's dedicated, which is half the battle.

    4. I'll never claim him to be an ATG, but right now he may well be the second best fighter in the Super Middle Weight division, (Behind what probably will be an ATG) and the division is deep. Ward, Froch, Kessler, Bute, Dirrell, Dirrell, Stevenson, Abraham, Pavlik, Rodriguez, etc. Froch has fought quality fighter after quality fighter and has lost clearly just once, to the afformentioned potential great, Andre Ward. I do think Kessler beat him, but it was a very close fight.

What do you think about Froch @ 175? There are a lot of styles there that really favor Froch: Cleverly, Shumenov, Cloud. . And of course Pascal again (I know he promised Pascal a rematch in Montreal). . But I've been told by many people Froch has said before that "175 is all wrong for him". . . He's definitely not a big SMW at all. . . But I'd really like to see him try his hand at 175. .

Froch's natrual weight is about 170 mate, that's when he's out of fighting shape. He and Kessler are both totally natrual SMW's. 175 would suit him fine if he was matched very carefully. Chad Dawson is all wrong for him, and so is someone like Campillo. Cleverly fights in straight lines and has a pourous defence, I think Froch stops him. (Thought that all along, I'm not on a hype train.) He out boxes Bellew, and Cloud. Pascal gets out worked down the stretch, after winning 5 of the first 6 rounds IMO. He's too top heavy and gasses. I think we'll see him up there eventually, assuming he beats Kessler next. I think the next time Froch loses, he'll retire.
