Martinez is massively overrated. Even if you believe the hype in him, he would be too small at SMW, froch hits hard enough to be able to take him out, or can keep it at the end of his jab.
I think Martinez could stay out of range and then keep catching Froch with his speed coming in and out. I've been wrong before with Froch though . . .
What is it with boxing fans needing to see fighters keep going up in weight until they are fighting guys they shouldnt even be in the ring with? Martinez vs Froch is a joke of a fight, Martinez belongs nowhere near 168. Hes already gone from 147, to 154... to 160, where he is quite obviously maxed out.
How can anyone say that Froch is too big for Martinez? Chavez Jr. is bigger than Froch, as is Pavlik. Martinez beat both of them decisively. I'm not saying Martinez would definitely beat Froch, but size wouldn't be the deciding factor.
Martinez is a great fighter but hes a natural LMW fighting at 160, Froch would finish what Jr started
Martinez walks around at damn near 180 lbs. He could fight at 168. However, he can make just as good money fighting at MW. Believe me, if there were big money options at 168, Martinez would fight there.
