Dirrel lacks confidence in his punch resistance. If he had the confidence to simply take punch now and then he could be the best since his overall skillset is far above the rest of the division including Wards.
I'd personally like to see him take some soft touches inside the top 20. Guys like DeGale, Groves, Brian Magee, Davis, Balszay or JGon.

One of those guys, bring em to Detroit, make an event of it with a good UC and get him a much needed dominant win. I think JRod or George got just enough power to shake Dirrel without putting him on ***** street or into full retreat for the rest of the fight. A big win like that could be the confidence builder he needs to become the best. IDK........seems Bute needs that same type of win about now himself.

More realistic to suggest that Dirrell would be a good next opponent for Bute back in Montreal. Good rehabilitation fight for both.

There's been over two and a half years since Dirrell lost to Froch during which time he's disgacefully faked one injury and beaten one nobody. That's not nearly enough to deserve a shot at the IBF champion.

Good take. Bute's confidence in his punch resistance is probably at an all time low right now too. And Dirrel can bang just the same as Froch......perhaps, Dre has MORE one punch concussive power than Froch, and this is coming from Dre's biggest hater.

However, Dirrel is a SP. The short, STRAIGHT R hand that Froch used so effectively against Bute would not be there for Dirrel. And Bute's L hand would certainly be enough to starch Direll if he was touched by it.

So, in effect this is a pickem fight.

Does Bute have the confidence in his own punch ressitance to take it to Dirrel and send him running, or does Dirrel have the confidence in his own to take that necessary chance at KOing Bute ala Froch.

    My pick.....Bute by T/KO 6-8

    :deal All of this.

Dirrell doesn't deserve a title shot with nobody, he isn't active and his attitude is ****. His comment on twitter on saturday about Bute was his usual immature shite aswell. He's a ****ing clown.

Froch/Kessler 2 will be the fight of choice for pretty much everyone.

No way do Froch fans want to see him against a slick black american.

Froch couldnt beat Dirrell without corrupt judging, and a point deduction.

Dirrell was a baby then. Dirrells been sparring at Mayweathers gym. Dirrell would embarrass Froch now.

Slow Europeans should steer clear of Ward and Dirrell

Dirrel needs to start getting some fights in against some good competition. It will only help him earn a title shot and hopefully help him mature as a fighter so he doesn't crumble again mentally. As of right now he has not done anything in the last couple of years to say he deserves it.

I think froch tkos dirrell in a rematch if it were to happen soon but if dirrell has some fights first might UD froch.

Dirrell did against froch what khan did against maidana and peterson only he did it from the first bell.

He likes to talk **** about Bute, let that fight happen next while Kessler-Froch II goes down.

Dirrell-Bute's a good crossroads fight for both of them.

Dirrell is a non-entity. Kessler is the rightful opponent

Let's not forget Dirrell really stepped up in comp when he faced Froch. I believe he had like 15 fights. He was green and i thought he won the fight. Now, Direll is more experienced and i see him winning decisively this time.
