Khan did mention this. He did not in any way blame Islam, rather he blamed himself. He fought during Ramadan, the month in which we fast. All Khan said, was he shouldn't have fought during Ramadan. He did fast the day of the fight and of course that isn't advisable. He said that everyone takes off during Ramadan. In my community, even the doctors take off early when they can. Again, Khan blamed himself, not Islam.

 

He did actually say he should not have fought during Ramadan.

 

Yes, thats why he never fights in Ramadan anymore.
