Do people understand this or they are just morons? Jermaine Taylor was dominating Carl Froch after 4 rounds. Dominating.. Oscar De La Hoya won the first 3 rounds against Hopkins Cotto winning early rounds easy against Margarito Shannon Briggs Frank Bruno Ray Mercer all won early rounds against Lennox Lewis.. Lewis dominated them all in the end. Lewis looked like he was gonna die after 2 rounds against Briggs and with his lion heart prevailed and destroyed Briggs. KOED him 5 times Early Round score cards dont mean jack ****
What happens if you don't manage to KO the opponent late on? I mean if you lost 4-5 early rounds then you need to win all of the mid to late rounds to win.
Understand what you are saying. Happens more often than not. But then again, this plan only works with some boxers. Other than the Zab Judah fight, haven't seen Floyd Mayweather come back from behind in a fight. Fighters like Floyd like to put early rounds in the bank since it suits them more with their defensive strategy. If you got them locked up, less likely he or boxers like him will need to take unnecessary risk late in the fight.
Depends on the ability of the guy who is losing to be able to adjust, and of the other guys' ability to react to how they change things up. Judah-Tsyzu showed one extreme to the other, front-runner with average boxing IQ vs smart patient killer
Sorry but they can matter a great deal. Not sure what you're trying to say.If a fighter wins the first 5 rounds but only two of the last 7,the judges aren't going to say "Ah well,he was **** in the second half so I'll alter the cards from the early rounds"
it means something. Just cos you can name a few examples of fights where one fighter won the early rounds but ended up losing the fight. They are the exception. More often than not, the guy that is winning the early rounds, is the guy that goes on to win the fight. This thread is as ******ed as me saying, Winning a football Match at half time doesn't mean anything. And then list a few come from behind victories.
