Athletes shouldnt be allowed to ride motorcycles. Most people I know who've ridden motorcycles have been injured,

Many promotional contracts do, in fact, contains clauses prohibiting the boxer from riding a motorcycle. Generally, the promoter expects that the fighters avoid all dangerous recreational sports and activities.

I guess promoters could ask for it in contracts like a lot of professional teams do with their players.

Well you wanna eliminate all possibilities of injury. Motorcycles are dangerous. People who ride motorcycles will tell you you have to ride as if everyone on the rode is trying to kill you. Just read an article on cracked.com a week ago about riding motorcycles. And I want one day, but I cant ignore the fact that everyone I know who's ridden one has been seriously injured on one. I mean you are likely to crash your car atleast once in your life, I'd expect no less on a death machine that is a motorcycle.

**** that, my life is mine and if I want to put it at risk riding a motorcycle because I love them, you devoid of balls safety first people with fascistic tendencies are no one to tell me what to do

Accidents can happen to anyone, at any time, you can be the more careful person in the world and **** can still happen. You could be driving your car one afternoon, respecting all trafic signals and speed limits, safety belt on, and suddenly a drunk or distracted semi truck driver crushes you like a tin can. But guess what, you cant live your life just thinking on safety or you wont do ****

One of my uncles is almost 70yo and still riding his moto and going out with his club of choppers, he's only had one accident in his life, nothing serious.

I dont like motorcycles myself but they shouldn't be forbidden, people have to take care of their own lives.

If they want to introduce a union for Boxers, which helps pay for Medical expenses and other things, then they'd have my support to impose those sort of restrictions. Not before then.

  9. Apparently you aren't aware of the news that Edwin Valero died... like 2 years ago... He hung himself in his jail cell the day after he was arrested for murdering his girlfriend in a coke-fueled rage.

Motorcycles are ****ing dangerous. I don't understand why anybody would ride them much less high profile athletes. There's a laundry list of guys who've ****ed themselves up on motorcycles: Roethlisberger, Kellen Winlow, Jay Williams, Jeff Kent etc. It's happened before, and it'll happen again.

Can you check the thread title first then get back here? I'll give you a few seconds.

Okay, I assume that you know have read it.

It said "Stupid question: Should boxers be banned from riding motorcycles?"

Okay, and are you aware that Valero had a motorcycle accident? And are you even aware that he had an examination and he was diagnosed to have irregularities in his brain? And are you aware that it was the reason he was banned to fight in the US?

I'm not limiting my thread to living examples, I apply it when deemed applicable.

  13. As for the topic at hand... You can't tell me that someone buying their first motorcycle has never heard of someone being killed or injured on one. You can't tell me they aren't already keenly aware of the risks.

And... MLB/NBA/NFL players are NOT "banned" from riding bikes. Their respective teams put clauses in their contracts regarding bikes and other dangerous activities.. but there is no ban.

Everyone who gets on a bike knows what they are getting into. These are grown adults.

And I will say this... Plenty of prime athletes have died by other means. Car accidents, plane crashes, murder, freak boating accidents, etc... "Ban" fighters from riding bikes and you might as well "ban" them from leaving their house altogether.

u want to ban guys who take punches to the face for a living from riding motorcycles? i have a better idea....ban texting while driving. i think the penalty for texting while driving should be right there with dwi's. i'm sure there are more accidents caused by ppl texting while driving than ppl driving under the influence of alcohol.

  15. Yeh my reading comprehension is just fine, thanks. A simple past tense on the Valero situation would have closed the door for any smart ass comments like mine... Just sayin.
