I was very busy over the holiday weekend and didn't see any boxing news.. This morning I was truly shocked 2 see the news about Williams!! Noooo!

The Punisher is one of my favorite modern day warriors! Guts and a smile is how I would describe him..

Champ, I know U are going through a really tough time but I know ur Warrior Spirit carry U!! Best wishes for ur surgery tomorrow!!

    War, Paul Williams

Ps, ESB.. Flood the forums with PW threads.. He earned it!

****'s a shame. he's such a good guy. severing the spinal cord is, in the universe of the human anatomy, like an asteroid impacting the earth. it's a worse case scenario situation. it's good that he isnt a quadriplegic, but it's still just too devastating to conceive really.

All boxers should be banned from motorcycles... First Corrales, now PW. Both warriors.

I love bikes, love them. But I won't buy one because I simply value my life and health to even take a chance. I just know someday somewhere something would happen. I'll keep it at sports cars.

Agree. The risk-benefit ratio is just too steeped on the side of risk when it comes to motorcycles. Heard and seen of too many people I know have gotten slightly injured to significantly maimed b/c of a motorcycle.

I get it. Motorcycles don't kill, but they don't put you in a safe situation either.

apparently he completely severed his spinal cord, meaning it has broken into parts. there's no coming back from that. it's not like one or a few crushed vertebrae, where there's a chance for therapy and recovery. paul's lucky he wasn't instantly killed. that kind of trauma is usually a death sentence in all honesty.

Your Guts And A Smile is a perfect description of Paul. He always seemed to be smiling on the way to the ring and after his performances. He truly seemed to enjoy what he was doing. And like everybody's been saying he wanted the toughest fights out there as he had no duck in him, a true throwback. He had an excellent career and plenty to be proud of as he always laid it on the line. I'll miss watching him in the ring, but I'll still be rooting for the Punisher outside of it.
