Wouldnt disagree with that - it was no FOTY imo either - exactly for the same reason you outlined - the workrate or intencity wasnt there nor was the quality.
my golden boy? nothing of the sort. I've always known Duddy's limitations. It just bores me to read bull****!!
Very disapointing Might as well get him in with Pavlik once that cuts healed. Before he suffers a loss to a nobody, because the kid has a defence with more holes than Swiss cheese
all i said was that he wasn't that good, which is not an outrageous comment when comparing him with the very top level.which at the end of the day is the the level we need to compare him with, when the pavlik fight is due to be announced.
Its funny as a fighter I dont mind watching him, but its his grating personality which pisses me off, he completely overplays the 'typical Irish lad' stereotype to a tee much in the same sense as Ricky Hatton does. If anyone who watched that documentary they did on him will know what I mean
YES....SLOW, ONE DIMENSIONAL...put him out of the picture the REAL irish deal is Lee; just give him a few more fights.
oh jesus! thats bull**** - slag of his defence, his skills, his performance but the guy has a great personality. If you watch one of his interviews and dislike him then it says more about you. Just look at his replies to the questions he was asked post fight last night - rationale, honest and unassuming - ffs!
Lee can bang hard enough to Ko Duddy now. Some bad journymen give Duddy trouble but they lack the power.
good call. i had him losing the first 4 rounds as well. i thought r2 and r3 were close but the canadian fella fired off the more eye catching hardhitting combos.
i guess we all come across that way,im from the same town as him and have been in his company many times, beginning when he was a lifeguard at a swimming pool when he was 22,he is down to earth, funny and is in no way interested in self promotion, maybe the fact that he came across like a 'typical irish lad' is down to the fact he is a typical irish lad. can i ask though, what documentary was it?is it available on the internet? i rate duddy as a good b level fighter who has a granite chin with reasonable skill, power and less than average defence.he is definatly capable of winning the EBU in the summer to claim his crack at pavlik in november.
Id love him to do well, hes probably the nicest boxer there is now from reading about him and seeing interviews No fake ****.. Its a pity he's lacking in a few departments, but give him a shot against Pavlik if hes still unbeaten and what will be will be
