I'm 6'2 and right now I'm a LHW but when I do start fighting matches I want to start at middleweight and looking for some examples of boxers who were around my height and fought at middleweight
Andy Lee (6'2''). Ronald Hearns (6'4''?). I'd say the median height range for MW's is 5'10''-6'0''. . For WW's it's about 5'8''. For LHW it's 6'0'' - 6'3''.
Never heard of Paul Williams until you mentioned him but damn what a tragic end to his career. And he even fought at welterweight. I wonder what kind of insane things he had to do to make weight
I'm the same height as you and been around middleweight most of my life. When I was 20 I could probably have made welter ;-) Now, I'm in my early 30'ies and could still make smw if I had to fight. Bernard Hopkins is 6.1 and a good example of a tall middleweight. Plenty of beanpoles out there in boxing - Antonio DeMarco is another example of a fighter who is quite tall for his weight (though not a mw).
Darren Barker is about 6'1 Bare in mind though, under the asumption you are an amateur boxer, most of these guys have the benefit of a 24 hr weigh in.
I'm 6.3 and currently weigh 154 pounds. Im a beanpole haha. But would struggle to get up to lhw, would be more suited to mw perfect if I was in fight shape.
Yes but he never got to compete as he failed a steroid test, he and his bro are going quite well today as pro's though
