wait, were we talking about soccer?

    no....no we weren't:huh

being at home or away matters to a much lesser extent from the perspective of experienced sportsmen, and especially in the case of mentally tough, single individuals, like boxers. the reason why your comparison between boxing and other sports is flawed, is because in boxing you're dealing with a single mind in the ring, not a surplus of personalities who are affected differently, and who can contribute greatly to or singlehandedly win or lose something......but I get the creeping suspicion that you will not understand that fact.

After the very clear win Ward got over Froch, I'm sure it the pot was sweet enough, he'd do it. Although being ranked higher and with a win over Froch, why would he, unless paid A LOT more. That would be like Ward doing Froch a favor at this point.

There was NOTHING Froch could do that leads me to believe fighting at home would be any different.

Team sport has home and away fixtures.

    In boxing...

    Bell vs Mormeck
    Hopkins vs Mercado
    Wladimir vs Brewster

had home and away fixtures, all home wins, all away loses.

I did note that 21 out of 28 were world rated in the division. sheika was world rated and beat Butler and G Johnson. Forget that.
He might have beaten Kessler but better than Calzaghe :patsch. He beat Kessler with a headbutt, thats what ended the fight, and you compare a faded 36 year old beating a young undefeated fighter, compared to a 25 year old beating an already beaten faded fighter suffering double vision.
Still if you go down that route, Bika who you rate as a win for Ward, was beaten clearer by Calzaghe and Bute years previously and as noted yet another Calzaghe leftover.
Green wasnt a big win and had a lesser resume than Sheika, as well as being blown away by a sheika victim.
Abraham was 1-2 in his last 3 fights and isnt a top SMW, in fact what was Abrahams big MW win? Abraham has a lesser resume than many Calzaghe victims.
As for Dawson his best win is over a fighter 18 years older that Calzaghe beat years previously. In fact Wards best wins are over far older men. Tarver and Johnson were 14/15 years older and had been exposed, in fact Johnson was beaten clearer by Bute, and Adamek wasnt a good LHW

Wamp, wamp waaammmppppp!!!! Boo- Hoo!!! Guess what mate? When I look at the official records it says Ward won, Kessler lost. I'm sure that's all that matters at the end of the day. Ward stepped on Kesslers foot a few times too, don't you want to cry about that also?

No, Ward fights only in his backyard. He doesn't want to travel. It may be getting car-sick or something.

So nobody can tell me of an American SMW who could win a big fight away in Europe, and people say home advantage counts for nothing :patsch.
When Froch fought Taylor, his trainer said they were let out around a bunch of screaming Taylor fans where it was intimidating and Froch completely froze against Taylor when fighting away, because of that he got put down, and didnt get started till he started to relax. Its in Boxing News this current issue. Read it for yourselves

I'll start crying when I see Ward knocked out. But that'll be from laughter!

Why are all of Froch's fans speaking for him? Well I guess it's because they weren't in the ring with Ward getting outclassed over 12 rounds. Why don't one of you butt hurt Froch fans go tell Carl to publicly demand a re-match with Ward in Nottingham. It's not going to happen because the man who was actually in the ring knows the outcome won't be any different.
