I been saying forever they need to fight each other if they want bigger fights it's the only way. Pirog schools him.

Excellent fight that came together pretty quickly since it was looking like Pirog-Geale for a while, I like this fight bettter but I'm unsure at the moment who wins.

Like others have said 160 has a lot of talent that just needs to face each other and it looks like its starting to happen.

I don't know what Martinez is doing for the summer but it looks like he will have a lot of options for this fall in his own division. The winner of this fight, Geale(if he beats Sturm), Quillen(if he beats Winky), Chavez-Lee winner is possible, plenty of good fights coming into place for Martinez.

 

Is this the resurgence of 160 lb division?

Awesome fight! We will learn a hell of a lot here.

 

Pirog is going to win in a WAR. Can see him being hurt a couple of times, the problem with Golovkin is he is NOT busy at all. He waits on his punches too long and can get caught. Pirog has an excellent work-rate and has experience of going 12 rounds, if he can get through the first few rounds I can't see Golovkins power carrying him to the later stages and expect the Pirog's better boxing skills to take the fight over, I'll say it'll be a unanimous points decision, my guess is 116 - 112 for Pirog.

 

I want to be like this. . . But I don't want to insult the boxing gods for throwing the possibility of this fight out there!

I also don't want to get too hype about it, either. . . Cause we all know how fickle fights can be.


How rare is it when we get two primed, hungry, world class guys who are pretty much on the same skill level fight each other? Not to mention this mesh of styles is crucial. . .

Also this is another fight along with Kessler/Froch where two guys I like alot going to beat **** out from each other.

I have a feeling winner of this fight is NOT going to get any big fights anyway at least not in USA. Not after Pirog/Jacobs Horrific catastrophe.

 

Wow what a good match up. I hope this fight actually happens, with no injuries or contract hold ups.
