Hi, had a pretty poor experience with this website (sugarrays.co.uk) and I think a fair few people from UK use them so thought it might be interesting. I ordered the Rival RHG10 d3o Headgear on the evening of Monday 21st. I got an immediate notification that the order had been processed from them and. By Thursday I still hadn't received it, so I called them to query the the status of the delivery and the guy said "any time next week mate". They say they'll let you know if there's going to be a delay to the delivery (3 working days is their estimated time) but obviously they didn't, was a bit annoyed at this point since it was 90 quid and I paid £5.80 on top for the delivery so I spoke to the guy a bit and sent a couple of emails which were never responded to. I call them on the afternoon of Monday 28th and the guy says they "left me a message to contact them on Wednesday last week". They only have my mobile number which doesn't HAVE an answerphone, I had no texts or emails. Apparently they didn't have any Rival stock and didn't know when they would. I ask the guy to just refund me, already thoroughly pissed off with them by this point so I'll find it somewhere else. Tuesday 29th I get an email saying my order has been shipped... Bearing in mind at this point I had bought another one off Ebay, I didn't know what was going on. Called them again, the guy says that they just got their Rival stock in so he's going to look into it and ring me back in 10 minutes. He never rings me back, I didn't have time at work to call while they are open. Now today I get an email saying I've been refunded. All in all, some of the shittiest service I've ever received from any retailer - I've ordered a couple of pairs of wraps and they're fine if what you want is in stock, if it's not though (which you won't know as they don't say on their website or notify you) then good luck. Nice to vent.
I'm going by well reviewed sellers on Amazon/Ebay now mate, ordered the same headgear on Tuesday and it will be with me tomorrow, have had tracking for the entire thing. I think they were saying they got their shipment of Rival stuff yesterday just so you know, so maybe there's some hope of it going to you but obviously I personally wouldn't have a ton of faith.
The best UK based company I've dealt with is; http://fightoutlet.co.uk/ Ordered from Geezers before and waited around 6 weeks for a pair of boots I think it was.
Nice one mate, cool that they have Grants stuff too, I was curious about the availability of it in the UK. Nice little feature about email alerts for when stuff comes in stock too (the problem I had would've been negated with that). Will definitely use them when I order my new sparring gloves.
Got my headgear today from my alternative vendor - shame my elbow seems to be injured (think I hyperextended it shadowboxing, pain keeps increasing despite resting it) so I won't be able to use it for a while. I'll do a review once I've sparred a few rounds in it. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Bugabond-Fight-Store are pretty decent, ordered on Tuesday and I have it now.
Yeah, I've bought a few Grant things through them and always spot on service and they seem to have an extremely efficient customer service system. I'd urge you to use them in the future :good I'm not sponsored/working for them btw
Id the same problem as the opening post, they had ran out of stock the lonsdale sparring gloves and i had waited weeks so i rang them a few times and they ended up giving me the pro sparring gloves which were ten quid dearer than the ones i had ordered at the start so everything worked out. But there customer support is terrible.
I managed to get a custom pair of Grant gloves actually made from scratch and delivered to my house from America faster than my order from Geezers
Who did you buy from in the US? Grant directly? And I've only ordered once from Sugar Rays and everything went ok but comments on here are making me hesitant to order from them again!
Yes, ordered directly through Grant as I wanted complete custom gloves. Great service, although many people would probably be skeptical about parting with money via paypal seeing as how Grant only currently have a Facebook page and an email address. They even draught up a picture of how your gloves will look and email it to you, pretty cool
