"Then maybe I'll have one more fight at 147 before I go on to the big, big names like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao" How would this play out for Roach if Khan took on Pacquiao?
He would stick with Manny. he's always said that. Unless he thought Manny was over the hill and he wanted back a fighter he wants to work with for years to come. I can't see that happening. Manny and Floyd beat him if he fights them soon.
khan needed a dance partner, ortiz needed a dance partner, they should've fought each other, THEN maybe khan can keep running his mouth if he were able to get passed him
Hey my names names Amir Khan I train with Freddie Roach Hey my names Manny Pacquiao I train with Freddie Roach see the problem?
I'm sure he'd stick with Pacquiao too but then who'd train khan for that fight? That'd be interesting to see who khan went with to train for that fight.
until he gets upsetted by "Dani" and the dream dies once again the problem for Amir and Saul is that Floyd will probably be happily be retired by the time they're ready. Mayweather has what 2 fights left.
Khan's not the best when choosing his words. What he's saying here is: "I'm going to test the waters at 147, before fighting big names on the level of Mayweather and Pacquiao". Not that he's actually going to fight Pacquiao himself. With that said, him and Pacquiao would actually be a good fight. I think he has a better chance of beating Pac than he does Mayweather.
I would disagree. I would say Khans stronger fighting defensive counter punchers as he is so quick in an out with fast combinations. Manny would probably eat his shots and k.o him early doors. Mayweather would probably UD but Khan is still all wrong for him. (As wrong as you can go against an adaptable opponent).
For that kind of Money and Publicity, and given the amount of sparring you had with Manny to prepare and know his style, if I were Khan,; I would leave Roach if that fight was made available. For Floyd, the good part with that is if Floyd does continue to fight a couple of more years (and there is no telling what he decides after he gets out of jail), Khan can buy time and fight Floyd next year. Time is on Khan's side and not on Floyd's (unless Khan gets KTFO by someone). Khan vs. Ortiz is a good match-up given both continue to win.
i have always thought that should he continue to win fights, khan would eventually fight floyd and/or pac. since he's with gbp, floyd-khan would happen first. if khan wins, a fight against pac is inevitable.
