Do you REALLY believe there will be a Mayweather vs. Canelo fight

We've seen Floyd at 154 lbs twice now. Sure he won, but I don't think anyone was too overly impressed. He can probably still beat the majority of 154 lbs fighters, but I don't even think he's extremely pleased with both 154 lbs performances.

What do you all think? Will it happen?

Maybe if canelo concedes on 8's for the fists? Funny how both guys he has fought at 154 have insisted on 10s for gloves.

  3. Not gonna fight a young fighter proven at 154.
    We know his M.O.
Older fighter/Away from Prime or Unproven power at weight of potential fight.
Not saying he couldnt beat prime guys just the state of boxing and the need for a name gave him the luxary of doing what past legends could not, avoiding the tough tough fighrs
Granted skills r off the charts I feel comfortable enough after seeing Castillo, Cotto, Oscar be able to NOT be neutralized that the Kostas, Pacquiaos would be able to win

    no

Floyd only has 2 fights left. Floyd will be happily retired by the time Saul would be ready, and I don't think oversized is even going to stay at 154 for long.

    Mexico demands a Saul-Chavez fight

If Mayweather were to defeat Canelo at 154 i would be extremely impressed. With that being said no i dont think it will happen. Floyd will give up at least 20 lbs vs Canelo. And Alvarez is no DLH or Baldomir. First off hes a NATURAL 154lber and getting bigger. Hes got dynamite in both hands and hes very talented and his technique and defense is improving with each fight. Floyd doesnt have the power to keep a guy as ruthless and big as Canelo off of him. I seriously doubt this happens. Then again this fight would do massive #s so who knows but i truly believe 147 is Floyds max weight. Mayweather is great n all but Canelo will be too much for him.

    Probably Not.

Canelo is too young and too strong and too proven at 154. PBF is only getting older and Canelo will be even more in his prime.

Canelo would not fit the low risk, high reward fights PBF would be looking for at this point in his career.

It will happen if canelo beats kirkland in september and beats cotto in december and then only then shows canelo is ready for mayweather in may 2013.

It will definately happen in the near future. If Canelo keeps winning and garnering even more attention and support. The fight will be huge. Lots of money to be made by money and it will be Canelo's final step to mega stardom. A passing of the torch of sorts.
