Judah is up there, but people like me who are old enough to remember Kirkland Laing know that he had the ability to be an ATG,but the pipe won the day.

Naseem Hamed has to be up there despite all the actually acheived.

He lost all motivation in his mid 20s and was basically retired at 26.

    Odlanier Solis
    +
    Andrew Golota

With Solis, his natural boxing ability an sense of spatial awareness of knowing when to throw.. He's soo skilled, If he ever sorts himself out an gets his weight down, he could be on the same level of the Klitschko Bros.

An Andrew Golota, just look at his record.. for a guy that failed all his assignments at the highest level, you could see he had the ablility to be the best, just never the heart to go with it..

Linares is somewhat of an anomoly, I can't get my finger on exactly what his problem is....the guy seems to have everything in place for him to become a legend but then his world crumbles around him. When I think of Linares's physical gifts, talent and god given skills I lump him in with Dawson though the difference here is Dawson has shown at least some fortitude.

i agree with the people naz he achieved alot, but he fell out of love with the sport a few years before he retired , had the naz of the new millenium had the same dedication as the naz of the mid 1990's he would of achieved a hell of alot more

People place way too much importance on talent -- things like speed, power, and general physical abilities. Talent is important, but it just doesn't work without the right mind to go with it. I haven't boxed before, but I know that the right mentality is so important in any sport. Mayweather is good because he combines talent with ring intelligence and calmness under fire. Pac is good because he combines his physical talent with determination and heart -- when you hit him with a good shot he comes right back instead of backing away and folding.

Then you look at guys like Judah and Ortiz, who are now infamous for having mental meltdowns in the ring -- both of them have speed and power, and yet both of them don't possess the mind to compliment those abilities. Khan has some of the fastest hands and one of the best jabs in the sport today, but doesn't use these tools intelligently. Marquez doesn't have the talent of other boxers -- he doesn't have blistering handspeed, he isn't a big puncher, his reflexes aren't amazing, he goes to the canvas quite a few times against different guys, and yet he's a special fighter due to his analytical mind, heart, and technique.

Bowe. He had a great career, but he could have dominated for a long time.
