In that case, nobody really cleans out a division then. If anyone was close it was Tyson.

He definitely did clean out the division in the 80s.
Undefeated, undisputed, Unified champ at what
21 or 22. What more could you ask for. He didn't
Have a time machine to face Ali, Foreman, Frazier
Marciano, etc. ALMOST cleaned out the division
    Post prison as well.

only one of the names you have said, is foreman, and how did he clean out the division post prison? he was 8 fights, 5 wins 2 losses 1 NC

infact bruno, mccall, larry holmes, tucker or seldon could have been some of the worst world champs ever, don king working the alphabet organisations to his benefit, while guys like mercer, bowe, byrd, tua, rahman, briggs could have given him a fight.

I said amost and i put it in capital. Are you blind or stupid.
He won the title again, an lost to two atgs. Bowe is another
one of my faves. Anyway a depleted skillwise Tyson
still had some good scalps in the 90s.

McNeeley was infact a better scalp on his own that any other HW's carrer.

I don't really rate his post-prison career myself, and the run immediately following his release had King's hands all over it. The best that could be said is at least Bruno and Seldon were rated at the time. After the Holyfield debacle and return from his suspension, he was a disinterested party at best and half past dead as a fighter. He looked awful against fringe contender Botha before demonstrating the only thing he had left. Easy $ bouts and public outbursts to hype his last huge payday against Lennox. Finkel wasn't looking for competitive fights '99-'03.

Foreman turned down several offers to fight Tyson. Sure ironchamp will be in with the sources before long.

Foreman said on letterman he was scared more of
Signing on the dotted line with Don King than he was
fighting Tyson. Yeah funny enough, right after the
announcers remarked Tyson was shot, he koed
Botha, but yeah all he had left in 2000 was his punch.
But if management and other Factors were different
Tyson would have been game to fight that whole
list, with the possible exception of Bowe. Money,
contracts, Lawyrrs, Don King, issues combine to
make very complex and scummy reasons. But
seriously Mike is a complex dude, just looking for
a payday at the end, after all he had been through
cant fault him for that. Im usually never beligerant
    just a shitty day.

Who are we to judge? We should just appreciate the time we had with him. Never a dull moment.

I interviewed Shannon Briggs a few months back and he told me that Tyson ducked him..

    3:47 into the clip.

Cool interview, Tuaman. Although hearing that back-and-forth in it's entirety, it's a lot different than just saying Briggs claimed Tyson ducked him. ("Had I fought him in his prime, he would've killed me").

Hell, Tyson "ducked" whoever you want him to duck. If that's the point of the thread? He also didn't give a **** about boxing anymore and wasn't trying to take any more ugly, unnecessary defeats in his vying for that last title shot (pay day) that was handed to him for the most part. Lennox sure as hell didn't mind the compensation and putting Tyson's name on his resume.

Pre-prison Tyson was a completely different animal. He'd of fought anybody you put in front of him.
