Is Wlad having a shorter than usual training camp for this fight? His camps are usually seven weeks but this one just started, I think.
Who wants to see Wladimir fight Tony Thompson again? Even Tony Thompson doesn't want to see that again
Wladimir has already done some training in Kiev...now he's off to Austria. So overall, it will be about the same as always.
Thompson was close to the being the best American heavyweight in the late '00s, but he has faded. Film footage of recent bouts suggests that Thompson's legs are gone. He looks rigid and more physical (as opposed to technical) these days. These signs bode ill for his prospects against a sizeable, brutal, skilled ATG such as Vladimir Klitschko. Vladimir wins by stoppage anytime between the 2nd and 8th rounds. It's really a question of how much Vlad chooses to open up. I could picture him doing a repeat of his Ray Austin or Derrick Jefferson blow outs. Or, I could picture Vlad playing it super safe and breaking Thompson down, finally unloading the big guns to end it in the eighth. I don't believe that Thompson is the same fighter who gave Vlad a good tussle in 2008.
