As an American who has traveled outside the US a bit I can definitely say that, as a nation, Americans are close minded.

We think if its not big here, then it must be worthless.

As usual, the Europeans are enjoying something awesome while we sit in the States and complain.

Note: This does not apply to those wankers in the UK. They suck only slightly less than we do as a nation, but we have better fighters.

That is my experience also after living overseas for about 12 years. I am embarrassed about the way people act from my country sometimes.

 

I just came back from France and Italy and while American's in general are well received if they make attempts to fit in, a lot of the stereotypes about us are true.

Some things I noticed:

1. Americans really are fat. If you are in Europe and see a fat person, there is about a 75% chance they are American, 24% chance they are British.

Yes, there really is THAT big of a difference.

2. Americans are sloppy. In France, for example, nobody would dream of going to buy gas...and certainly not to eat or out with friends...in flip flops, cargo shorts and a rumpled shirt. Italy was more laid back, but still...overall better dressed than here by 90%.

3. Americans are dumb. This isn't exactly true, because we are not less intelligent.

However, when you meet Europeans they are more likely to have a university education and speak more than one language. Also, they way they speak is more articulate than Americans who use a lot of slang and "uhm, uhhhhhh, like, you know what I mean"

4. Americans are arrogant and self important. This is not completely true. However we do have a tendency to think whatever we have going on is better than anything else available.

5. Americans are nice. This is true (according to lots of foreigners I spoke to). This characteristic is what keeps us welcome abroad.

Basically, we are like that big, loud, dumb cousin that is irritating..but very nice. The one that you wouldn't invite to your birthday party unless your mom made you.

 

Wlad has been dismantled 3 times by bums. And refused rematches twice. :deal

No trolling, I had no idea where the fight was as it is a Klit fight. Why would I want to know?

Fact is, the fight is being put on by German promoters, on a German TV station, with a largely German crowd, in a German speaking country that shares the German sensibility for not knowing **** about boxing. It really makes **** all difference.

but its sold out because germany is beside switzerland and they speak the same language in some areas aswell they use the same currency and when speaking english they have the same accent doing it..they also tan under the sun the same and men and women mate with each other just like the germans...

This stereotype can not be more true for Americans than the French or British. Americans are more insular, though.

As for the actual thread. I'm glad the intellectuals in Switzerland can enjoy the K brothers bore of a fight. They must be really sophisticated over there.
