Pavlik over looking Sigmon for Froch?

Hey, nobody would read this if the title was more honest.




When Kelly Pavlik talks about his upcoming opponent, Scott Sigmon, he uses words like “goofy” and “annoying.”
He doesn’t use words like “scary” or “threatening.”
“No, not at all,” Pavlik said, when asked if he views Sigmon as a threat. “You can’t take anyone too lightly and I’ll say this, the kid trains hard and he’s always in shape.
“That’s about it.”

“If it’s Froch, great,” Pavlik said. “If not, we definitely want to take a step up [competitively]. A top-level fighter or a champ. Whatever they throw at me, I’ll be ready.”

Notable is he is no longer mentioning Chavez JR. so that means Jr. might actually fight Martinez.

 

Pavlik could drink a bottle of Jack and still knock this bum out.

 

pavlik will never get a fight with froch.

 

I know he said he's getting rounds sparring, but I'd like to see a somewhat tested Pavlik if he plans on taking on Froch or another champ. Get a gatekeeper or at least a top 20 guy in there with KP. No offense to Jaco or Sigmon, but they aren't going to push Pavlik, they aren't anywhere near his level.

 

I agree. Pavlik needs to be stepped into the division a bit more. One thing Pavlik does have is a great chin, which im sure will stand firm at SMW

 

Sadly, the only 'news' in this is that he dropped talking about Jr. Yeah, I think he needs a tougher test before going 'full tilt'.

 

theyre both with top rank and bob knows that even an inebriated kp would thrash jr.

a sober one would ruin him.

also, sr wont let jr go anywhere near kp.

 

kp needs one year of gatekeeper fights before going in with a caliber fighter such a froch.

one more b-hop type thrashing and kp is probably done.

 

I think Pavlik would get crushed by Froch if he fought him in his next fight after Sigmon, i just dont think he is ready

 

Most think one more step up should do it. Just needs to sharpen up a bit.

 

Without a doubt, guys been way too inactive.

Style wise it'll similar to the Kessler fight (only slighty) a little less techical with a lot less in his arsenal

Froch will just swarm him and he won't know how to react due to the ring rust.

Also he's lost his mental edge, needs to build up some confidence.

Pav need 3 fights before he's ready for the cobra. Won't be bad as bute but I'll end in a Ko

 

Pavlik seriously needs to get some momentum going. September can't arive soon enough for me. This Sigmon fight will be good to see for a big Pavlik fan like myself, but back to back stale toast fights were a mistake imo.

Thanks, I sometimes say some pretty foolish things especially when I am intoxicated, but I try to keep it on planet earth more now, I have Pavlik up in my avatar and Pavlik has a heart of gold and I would not want to embarrass him even behind his back. All the Kelly Pavlik fans are kind of like that.
