He's a future champ IMO by this time next year you'll see Quillin with a belt around his waist or at least fighting for one. Right now he's a legit top 10 MW and has a brighter future than most in the top 10 save for Pirog/Golovkin
i was sold after he beat Craig McEwan with such ease a guy who gets all kinds of credit Andy Lee went life and death with i thought that Wright was a little bit of a trap fight, a fight where victory meant little but a loss would be beyond destructive and that winky being so good on defense could potentially be very difficult and make Quillen look bad Quillen got the job done but showed problems, he also showed some great stuff dropping a guy like Wright i will wait and see with this guy but is probably my favorite middle without a belt
McEwan was a different fighter than the one Lee fought. He looked slow in the Quillin fight I think Lee damaged him.
Quillin is the real deal. Loved his fight vs Winky. That defense is on point, throws with very bad intentions and is well-schooled all around. He's becoming one of my favorite fighters. Kid Chocolate all day!
Impressive performance no doubt. He looked very good dismantling Winky. He was composed and showed a lot of dimensions in his game. He's definitely has been improving....from his last fight to this one he looked a lot better. Worked the combinations well, paid attention to the body and laid traps that Winky got caught up in.....those uppercuts were on point.
Geale-Sturm, Pirog-Golovkin, and even Chavez-Lee. The winners of those fights will be loads more legit as challengers to Martinez than Quillin and all will constitute much more impressive victories than beating 40 year old Winky.
lol compubox. Also Winky's handspeed is loads slower than the top middleweights that neither Golden Boy nor Quillin appear particularly interested in.
